The Secret Life of the Book Blogger

I was tagged by lovely Becca @ ShihtzuBookReviews to do “The Secret Life of the Book Blogger Tag”. I’ve seen it around for a while and have been itching to do it!

Thank you so much for tagging me! Hope it will be as fun for you to read it, as it was for me to answer these questions.

Let’s get started, shall we?

♦ What is the best part?

I would like to point out a few things here: (1) the bookish community of course, people who blog, people who read, and just in general people who are in love with books as much as I am, and (2) the whole process of creating posts, writing, formatting it the certain way and then see how it all looks on the website, my work being out there, shared with all of you (Not too lame, okay?!).

♦ What is the worst part?

The amount of TIME it requires to prepare everything and post, and take pictures, and write and, take more pictures… It is INSANE. But I am very proud of myself to be able to make it possible without sacrificing my reading time.

♦ How long does it take you to find / create pictures to use?

Oh, no. No more pictures, please!!! TONS and TONS of time (that I usually don’t have).

♦ Who’s your book crush?

SURPRISE! No book crushes. (I feel old and boring right now…)

♦ What author would you love to have on your blog?

Hmm.. J.K. Rowling? Gillian Flynn? Rainbow Rowell? Any author at all? Please, someone?

♦ How long does it take you to prepare the post?

Depends a lot on the post. But the whole process of writing, getting pictures done, formatting, and so on, I would say takes at least an hour.

♦ How do you feel about the book blogger community / culture?

I absolutely LOVE it. Yes, all of you reading this, I love you very much! Thank you for all the support and amazing posts thus far.

♦ What do you think one should do to have a successful blog?

Have pretty pictures?! (I just HATE taking pictures. Yes, I do have bookstagram. No, I won’t be a successful blogger.) *sniffing sadly*

Thanks so much for the tag Alex, I have already done this one before so I probably won’t do it again because my answers will be the same, but thanks again for the tag.
I agree with you on the bookish community being the best part of WordPress, I love talking to people on here, and same with the tie it takes to write posts as well. There so much that goes into each and before I know it two hours have gone by and I still haven’t finished one post to publish on my blog!
I loved reading your answers, it was interesting learning more about your blogging life! 😀

Thank you so much!! I was supposed to dedicate tonight to prepare more posts and have everything organised and scheduled… Instead, I decided that I wanted a new blog theme. Lol

  I actually managed to get a fair bit done this weekend for my blog, in terms of drafting posts I mean, but there’s always more to do isn’t there!
  I’m thinking of looking at my theme at some point! 🙂

Thanks for tagging me, Alex. Lol I like your emphasis on pictures. They are great for breaking up text and making longer posts not seem so daunting to read.
