If you’d have asked me 2-3 years ago who was my absolute favorite author I’d buy any books from, I’d say Cassandra Clare or Sarah J. Maas. However, my reading tastes changed a lot during the last two years and in 2019, both of these authors were featured in my post: “Authors I’m Giving Up On”.
With this week’s TTT (Top Ten Tuesday) topic – Auto-Buy Authors, it’s time to revisit some older favorite authors and highlight some new ones! But because there are not a lot of authors on my, so called, “auto-buy list”, I’d like to talk about Top 10 Authors I’d like to read more of!
Here are my two previous posts about New-to-me authors:
This week’s TTT (Top Ten Tuesday) theme is Childhood Favorites! I was a very avid reader when I was little, and I loved to re-read books. My grandma would always ask me why I was wasting time reading the same books over and over again when I could have picked any new book from my granddad’s huge home library.
Now I see her point, but back then in my early teens, re-reading my favorite books was my favorite pastime.
This time for my weekly TTT (Top Ten Tuesday) post, I decided to combine this week’s topic Books on my summer TBR with some questions from Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag.
I did this tag 2 years ago and it was so interesting to look back on it and see what books I loved/hated in 2017. So I want to have something similar this year as well. Especially because I don’t feel like I’ve read any truly wonderful books this year yet. There were a few that I really enjoyed and gave 5 stars to, but only 5 (out of 39) made it to my “2019 favorites” shelf on GoodReads.
It doesn’t matter how hard I try to closely follow the release of new books by my favorite authors or release of the sequels in my favorite series, there are always those books that escape my attention and catch me off guard!
This is exactly what we are going to talk about today!
This week’s TTT (Top Ten Tuesday) is “Most Anticipated Releases of the Second Half of 2019”. However, since I post each month my most anticipated releases, I thought I would do something different and try to surprise you with some new books that are coming in the second half of 2019, that you might not be aware of!
Oh, this is going to be fun! This week, I’m actually doing the TTT (Top Ten Tuesday) theme without any twists. I thought it would be difficult to come up with unpopular opinion, but I had way more than 10 that I had to choose from to not make this post pages and pages long.
This week on Top Ten Tuesday we are supposed to talk about Favorite Books From Our Favorite Genre. However, since I already talked a lot about my favorite books and didn’t read that many fantastic books this year, I’ve decided to bring you the list of 10 books from my favorite genres that I’m not interested in.
Take a look at my thought process for this week’s TTT topic:
It’s another Tuesday, which means Top Ten Tuesday time! As always I love joining in on the fun and creating content for specific themes. But (you probably already noticed) I always tend to rebel a little bit and give the theme a spin of my own!
This week’s TTT is Top 10 Favorite Books Released in the Last Ten Years, and the idea is to come up with one book per each year. I tend to always talk about my favorite books, so I didn’t feel like repeating something I’ve done before, therefore today I’m talking about my TBR. More specifically – 10 Books Released in the Last Ten Years that are still on my To-Be-Read List!
I went to my vast GoodReads TBR shelf and selected one book for each year that I’m the most excited to read.
Today’s Top Ten Tuesday theme is “Books I refuse to let anyone touch”, and this could be interpreted in different ways – “books so bad I refuse to let anyone read them”; “my favorites books I wouldn’t let to anyone” or, something I decided to talk about today – “the most gorgeous books I refuse to let anyone touch with their greasy fingers!”
I don’t own that many beautiful hardcover books because (A) Paperbacks are way cheaper and (B) I don’t really care to collect all the hardcovers. I mostly pick up the books I’m really interested in over the pretty covers. But if I would have an unlimited budget for my book shopping sprees, I’d definitely get all those gorgeous hardcovers I always drool over at the book shops!
This week’s Top Ten Tuesdaytopicis very self-promoting! 😀 But I loved going back to the very first posts I’ve ever written for this blog, and seeing how much my writing, reviewing and just style, in general, has changed in the past 3 years.
This March WhimsyPages celebrated its 3 year anniversary with a total of more than 250 posts!
(One blog post takes approximately 3 hours to put together, let’s multiply it by 250. That gives us 750 hours or 31 days of non-stop writing and blogging, during the last three years! That is quite an achievement for me!)
How do you usually feel when it rains? Do you wish for sunshine? Do you enjoy the calming sound of the raindrops?
Personally, rainy days for me are perfect to catch up on some blogging and reading. Although, I do enjoy reading in the sun as well. But there is something cozy about the rain and dark sky, the possibility to lit up a few candles and cuddle up with a book under a blanket. I’m definitely a cozy reader!
Today I’m joining the Top Ten Tuesday theme – Rainy Day Reads, with a slight twist. Let’s get started!
At the beginning of every year, I go through the “audio book phase”. It’s that period of time when everyone (including myself) is obsessed about time management, new year’s goals and efficiency.
As a result, I keep downloading Audio book apps and force myself to be more productive! Use my time wisely, and so on. If I could double the number of books I read every month by listening to audio books while doing other things, that would be AMAZING!
This is my 3rd year attempting to listen to audio books and after some trial and error, I found some pros and cons, and I would love for all of you to add more things to this list!
