The third month of the year (that literally just started!) is already upon us. Do you feel as unprepared as I do? Time has been passing quicker and quicker each year and I need to learn some tricks on how to slow it down, maybe enjoy and capture more moments.
February wasn’t the best month reading-wise, but I hope to find my pace again this month, so I’m not planning to make my TBR any smaller, especially because the books I haven’t read in February are going to migrate to March.
For the first time in years, I have a proper TBR to share with you today, and these are all the books I have to read this month – either because I’ll be joining book clubs and read-a-longs, or because I want to read certain ARCs before their publication date.
2020 is officially here and my holidays are over, which means long office hours, a lot of running around and basically trying to do all the tasks that piled up over the holiday season.
I hope January is treating you well, and you don’t get caught up in the hectic routine of “catching up”!
Even though my month is going to be (and is already) very busy, I’m still planning to get some reading done. Sometimes I get carried away and go on a requesting spree on NetGalley thinking that I won’t get approved for most of the titles, and then I get them all at once.
TBRs are like New Year’s resolutions. They are made to be broken! So why not join the TTT (Top Ten Tuesday) meme this week and make one more list of books I’ll probably only read next summer or in many years from now.*
*I hope you don’t think that I intentionally don’t follow my TBR! I have all the desire and determination to read these books ASAP. But you know… TBRs…¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This week’s TTT topic is Books on my Fall 2019 TBR, which is a perfect way to begin the Autumn season! Happy 2nd day of Autumn, everyone! The weather is finally changing. We had some much needed rain last weekend. The evenings are finally chilly, and I lit up my first candles of the season. There are three genres I usually gravitate towards during colder months: (1) Fantasy, (2) Thrillers and (3) Historical Fiction.
I’m sure most of you experienced this before, when you start a new book just to realize that you aren’t in a mood for it, and then slowly fall into the reading slump. I’m not quite in a reading slump yet, but it’s getting closer and closer. I’d love to finally feel excited about reading!
This year has been weird in terms of reading. I’ve had some very high “highs” and some low “lows”. Meaning that sometimes I read tons of books, review them all, etc. And other times, I can barely manage to finish one book.
September hasn’t been great so far, reading and blogging wise. So I thought I’d do a quick update of what I am up to and why the heck am I reading so many books at the same time!
This time for my weekly TTT (Top Ten Tuesday) post, I decided to combine this week’s topic Books on my summer TBR with some questions from Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag.
I did this tag 2 years ago and it was so interesting to look back on it and see what books I loved/hated in 2017. So I want to have something similar this year as well. Especially because I don’t feel like I’ve read any truly wonderful books this year yet. There were a few that I really enjoyed and gave 5 stars to, but only 5 (out of 39) made it to my “2019 favorites” shelf on GoodReads.
It’s another Tuesday, which means Top Ten Tuesday time! As always I love joining in on the fun and creating content for specific themes. But (you probably already noticed) I always tend to rebel a little bit and give the theme a spin of my own!
This week’s TTT is Top 10 Favorite Books Released in the Last Ten Years, and the idea is to come up with one book per each year. I tend to always talk about my favorite books, so I didn’t feel like repeating something I’ve done before, therefore today I’m talking about my TBR. More specifically – 10 Books Released in the Last Ten Years that are still on my To-Be-Read List!
I went to my vast GoodReads TBR shelf and selected one book for each year that I’m the most excited to read.
I shall start this year strong! Hence, I picked a total of 9 (yes, you heard me right – NINE) books to read in January. It’s been a while since I was able to read more than 6 books per month, and my internship started this week. But I believe in myself! And big books don’t scare me at all. (well.. maybe a little bit).
Sadly, many new books released in January won’t arrive in time for me to read them all in January. They will just have to queue for the next month’s TBR.
As of right now it is minus one week in the already short month of February and I only read few pages of an ARC due by the end of this month. I can feel the reading slump closing in, I can even smell its filthy attempt to drag me into the world without books and reading!
This month I need to take things slow in terms of the reading and blogging spheres of my life and focus a little bit more on other things that are higher (sorry!) on my priority list at the moment – internship, papers, and work. Continue reading “February TBR | 2017”→
