The Reading Rush | The shortest books I could find!

Hi, guys! The last couple of weeks have been so hectic that I feel like I havenโ€™t talked to you in a while. I had a big chunk of my posts written and scheduled for July, so this is the first one Iโ€™m writing in a long time!

My reading has been going pretty well so far. As you know, Iโ€™m traveling through books this month, and I already visited 3 out of 4 destinations. I hope to read the final book and travel to Afganistan this week, so I can start The Reading Rush week with a freshly set TBR ๐Ÿ˜€ย

April 2020 Monthly Goals | Excited to read all books for O.W.L.s Magical Readathon!

Hello, fellow booklovers! I hope all of you are doing great and are ready to dive right into O.W.L.s Magical Readathon in April!

O.W.L.s and Booktube-a-thon are my favorite read-a-thons out there and I always make time for them. This year I wasnโ€™t sure about OWLs as I had a deadline for the deliverance of reports at the end of April, but with COVID, social isolation and Courts not working full time, the deadline and my exams are pushed for the end of this year (maybe?). We donโ€™t know quite yet what will happen, there have been a few decisions here and there from the Lawyersโ€™ Bar but nothing concrete just yet. This definitely gives me more time to read and blog, and also gives me more time to study. I can now include some books I was planning to read for the internship but didnโ€™t think I would have time for them.

How to Find Motivation & Fight your way out of a Reading Slump!

Hi, friends! As promised in my yesterdayโ€™s post – March 2020 Wrap Up, where I talked about the reading slump that has been haunting me since the end of February, here is a list of things Iโ€™ve been doing to try and fight my way out of this horrible feeling!

This is still work in progress, but considering that Iโ€™m planning to finish my 11th and 12th books of this month, I think itโ€™s actually going well and I hope that before OWLs begin I will be fully excited to emerge myself in numerous magical worlds!

O.W.L. Magical Readathon 2020 | A very analytical approach!

Following one of my New Year’s resolutions (i.e. read less study more), I planned to skip as many read-a-thons this year as I could, but I couldn’t make myself skip O.W.L.s Magical Readathon that takes place in April! O.W.L.s and Booktubeathon are the only two reading events I usually participate, and it felt wrong breaking the traditions.

To make my life a little bit easier, I decided to go through each career guide and pick one profession that requires fewer books. This resulted in me doing all the math so you wouldnโ€™t have to! ๐Ÿ˜€ My career choice will also impact my “Spring TBR”, so I will be joining Top Ten Tuesday theme (partially) as well!

Winter Magical Read-a-thon 2019!

The Winter Magical Readathon is here!

G @BookRoast is an incredibly talented human being, and Iโ€™m appalled by the amount of detail and work that went into this read-a-thon. I was so not planning to throw myself into yet another read-a-thon this year, but after watching the Announcement video that went live at the beginning of this week, I couldnโ€™t resist the temptation to Save Ginny and spend the most magical month of the year in Hogwarts!

If you donโ€™t know what Iโ€™m talking about, please watch this Announcement video by BookRoast and join in on the fun!

September 2019 | Monthly Goals – ยซGardens of the Moonยป buddy read!

Summer flew by so quickly this year. It was hectic, busy with tons of tourists around. They havenโ€™t all left yet, but Iโ€™m already anticipating the emptier roads, less traffic and supermarkets without huge lines.

September will be a busier month work and studies wise, but Iโ€™m still planning to take at least one week off work and maybe go somewhere or decompress a little bit before jumping into another busy year.

August 2019 Wrap Up | Failing NEWTs and increased “ARC”-load!

To summarize my August reading experience letโ€™s just say that I did EVERYTHING, including writing reviews (Crazy! I know!), except reading books I carefully picked for my NEWTs TBR. ยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ

Was I expecting this to happen?

Honestly, after such a great experience of the reading rush read-a-thon, I thought Iโ€™d be able to read tons of books in August – the ones on my TBR and the ones that didnโ€™t make it to my NEWTs TBR. Iโ€™m slightly disappointed with myself, but I donโ€™t think I could have forced myself to read more.

August 2019 | Monthly Goals – NEWTs, ARCs, and other acronyms

I hope you all had a very productive July and enjoyed the Reading Rush readathon! The Reading Rush, formerly Booktube-a-thon, is by far one of my favorite read-a-thons. I love how big the reading community is, how many events happen in just one week and the need to push myself to read just a little bit more to complete all the challenges!

This one week of intensive reading got me out of the reading slump and made me excited again about picking up new books. So my August goals might seem too ambitious but Iโ€™m going to try and read as much as I can.

NEWTs Magical Read-a-Thon | My TBR to pass all exams required for Auror’s career!

NEWTs (NASTILY EXHAUSTING WIZARDING TESTS) RULES:

1 – Each subject has three grades: A (Acceptable), E (Exceeded Expectations) and O (Outstanding);
2 – Each A unlocks a possibility to gain an E;
3 – Thus, in order to achieve O (Outstanding) you first must earn an A and an E, in that particular order.
4 – The cross-over or doubling up on reads is not allowed!

THE READING RUSH | Wrap Up & Many Badges!

The Reading Rush (former Booktube-a-thon) read-a-thon is one of my favorite bookish events of the year! It’s never easy to read 7 books in one week, but I love how many people participate in it. There were tons of YouTube videos, that I still need to catch up on, twitter sprints, bookstagram posts, and forums on the new Reading Rush website.

Did you participate? How many challenged were you able to complete?

I mostly stuck with my initial the Reading Rush TBR, which is very surprising, and managed to read 4 full novels, 1 graphic novel and 1 very short story.

THE READING RUSH TBR | Can I read 7 books in one week?!

This might be the best or the worst idea I’ve ever had, but I’m participating in this year’s the Reading Rush annual read-a-thon that runs from 22nd to 28th of July, and we have a week to complete all the challenges!

Booktube-a-thon (the old name of the Reading Rush) was my very first read-a-thon back in 2017. And to my surprise I was able to complete all the challenges and read a total of 7 books – here are my Booktube-a-thon TBR and Wrap Up from 2017!

OWLs Read-a-Thon | Wrap Up

My goal was to follow an Auror career, which required me to complete a total of 5 OWLs: Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Potions, and Transfiguration. Out of 5 books that I initially planned to read, I only read 2, but Iโ€™m sure that other books could potentially fit in with the prompt as well. (Check my initial TBR list here!)

April 2019 Goals | ARCs, Reviews and Read-a-Thons!

Whenever I write these posts, I try to answer several questions: What do I want to achieve next month? What do I need to work on? What steps will bring me closer to my goal?

Usually, the answers would be to STAY PRODUCTIVE! MOVE FORWARD! and everything with a similar vibe. But April will be slightly different. Of course, there are still books to read and blog posts to write; but my intention is to take is easy.

August TBR | ARC August & Tackle The Brothers Karamazov

Maybe I should be reading all those SERIES I STARTED AND NEVER FINISHED instead? Maybeโ€ฆ But reading ARCs seems so much more appealing!

I definitely have a problem with the fantasy series but they will have to wait. Because itโ€™s ARC August time! I will be participating in the 5th Annual ARC August, hosted by lovely book bloggers from Read.Sleep.Repeat
