Artemis by Andy Weir | 5 Reasons why I disliked Jazz Bashara

Andy Weir’s «The Martian» was a real boom, especially after the movie starring Matt Damon. I admit that I only learned about the book after hearing so much hype around the movie. The novel was astounding! Emotional, yet incredibly witty. Mark Watney was a delight of a character to follow. Science, jokes, life threatening crises – it had everything!

It was very difficult to not compare «Artemis» to «The Martian», and I must say that this new book was not as good as the previous one. Still very entertaining and full of science, but something was missing. Continue reading “Artemis by Andy Weir | 5 Reasons why I disliked Jazz Bashara”

Most Anticipated Releases | October 2017

I’ve been loving this monthly “meme” of mine – looking for new releases, see what everyone else is excited about and just staying on top of the bookish market. So of course October was not going to be an exception and here I am once more to list all of the new books I am the most excited about!

We had a massive influx of new and exciting books in September, and October is kind of falling behind, not being able to weigh up to September’s hype. The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr |An unbelievable adventure through memories or the tricks of a cruel mind?

I tend to rate the books I read right after I finish them, the memories are vivid, my heart is pounding and I probably just wiped the remaining tears from my cheeks – there is no better moment to decide how much I loved the book.

However, from time to time, after a couple of days, weeks or even months, I go back and change the rating after reflecting on it for a while.

The same happened to this book, I gave it full 5 stars after reading it in one sitting. After few days of constantly thinking: “Was it really that flawless?” I had to change it to 4 stars, and share my thoughts with all of you!
