My most anticipated releases | July 2017

It seems that even Publishers are taking some time off in July, because compared to the previous months, this one will be the quietest of them all!

Or maybe I am just waiting for more Fantasy / Dystopian / Sci Fi books while summer is all about contemporary? I am not sure! What I am sure about, is that there are only 3 books that I would like to get your attention to. Continue reading “My most anticipated releases | July 2017”

The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr |An unbelievable adventure through memories or the tricks of a cruel mind?

I tend to rate the books I read right after I finish them, the memories are vivid, my heart is pounding and I probably just wiped the remaining tears from my cheeks – there is no better moment to decide how much I loved the book.

However, from time to time, after a couple of days, weeks or even months, I go back and change the rating after reflecting on it for a while.

The same happened to this book, I gave it full 5 stars after reading it in one sitting. After few days of constantly thinking: “Was it really that flawless?” I had to change it to 4 stars, and share my thoughts with all of you! The Whole Thing Together by Ann Brashares | An exquisite web of complicated family relationships

Where do I even begin?

There are certain rules I make myself follow when it comes to ARCs that I receive for a review, or any other books in general:

  1. Don’t read too much about the book or author before reading it;
  2. Don’t read any reviews before writing down my own thoughts;
  3. Don’t hurry into rating the book you are not sure about; and
  4. It is okay to change your rating few days after when all the thoughts and feelings had time to sink in.

I was particularly excited about this novel, written by the famous Ann Brashares, author of the well-renowned «The Sisterhood of Travelling Pants». I must admit that I’ve never read the book, but I watched and loved all of the movies, starring my beloved Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel.
