Autumn is usually filled with new releases. This October won’t be an exception. Even though there are more there hundreds of books coming out this month, I was very picky and chose my top 5 that I’m the most excited about!
One of them I already started reading, and let me tell you – it’s incredible!
September begins with some very exciting new releases! It’s interesting how hyped I get about the last books in the series I haven’t even started yet, but we will blame it on the bookish community and my sensitivity to all things bookish.
In my defense, I already own the first two Nevernight books so it’s only a matter of actually reading them.
It’s officially the 6th day of NEWTs, and I’ve yet to read any of the books from my readathon TBR. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Instead I picked up «Normal People» by Sally Rooney (It’s amazing btw!) and spent many hours looking at the upcoming releases.
There are some very exciting books coming out this month (i.e. «The Passenger» by John Marrs) and I was very lucky to get two ARCs – «Bursts of Fire», which I’m planning to read asap, and «Keeping Lucy» that I read in June!
There is only one downside to these “most anticipated releases” posts – I tend to request too many ARCs on Netgalley. Then they all get approved at the same time and I suddenly have tons of books that need to be read ASAP!
I still love seeing new releases and pick a few that spark my interest to share them on my blog.
July will be a great month for new releases! I’m the most excited about «The Merciful Crow» (that I didn’t get the ARC of) and «Stay and Fight» (that I’m going to start reading this week!).
One of the most anticipated releases of this month, «Sorcery of Thorns» by Margaret Rogerson made me fall in love with gigantic libraries, enchanted books, witty sorcerers and one brave apprentice librarian. As I plunged into the story, my reader heart immediately warmed up towards Elisabeth Scrivener, the orphan raised in the Great Library of Summershall, whose only big desire was to become a warden.
She was to be a warden, keeper of books and words. She was their friend. Their steward. Their jailer. And if need be, their destroyer.
Unlike May, June doesn’t have 300 new books that I’m excited to read. In fact, I was only able to find 8 books I was interested in! (Which usually never happens, as I want to read everything and at the same time!)
There are some months that are filled with the new and most excited releases (it seems as though Publishers much prefer January / May and September over the other months!) and then there are months when I browse the New Releases page on GoodReads / BookDepository and other websites for many many hours, and still cannot find anything that excites me.
In March, there were only 7 books that looked somewhat promising.
This year is going to have some of the most anticipated books on my list. To say that I’m excited would be an understatement. Just for the month of January, I managed to compile a list of 12 books that I’m looking forward to.
Andy Weir’s «The Martian» was a real boom, especially after the movie starring Matt Damon. I admit that I only learned about the book after hearing so much hype around the movie. The novel was astounding! Emotional, yet incredibly witty. Mark Watney was a delight of a character to follow. Science, jokes, life threatening crises – it had everything!
Publishers are slowly awakening from their summer holidays and that means we will receive more and more amazing titles each month! I feel like August will be a great month when it comes to new releases. I am definitely looking forward to a handful of them! Continue reading “Most Anticipated Releases | August 2017”→
Spring is a wonderful season. Even though in Portugal you cannot see clear distinctions between the seasons as everything stays green all year around, Spring still is my favourite time of the year. Besides, that is the time of mine and my blog’s anniversaries. It is only right that I celebrate these wonderful events with some book shopping and so I accumulated 14 books for the past three month that I would like to share with all of you.
