Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating today!

The days before Christmas are usually very busy. Yesterday I spent most of the day cooking and preparing everything for the Christmas dinner, but TODAY I have no plans whatsoever! Only rest, eat tons of delicious food and start my re-read of the first Harry Potter book. ๐Ÿ™‚ 

There are not many days left in 2019 and the Christmas day seemed like the perfect day to finally post the list of my favorite books of 2019!ย

Songs from the Deep by Kelly Powell | Misleading book cover and title?

Iโ€™m always very sad when the book I have high (or even moderate) expectations for, ends up being a complete miss. ยซSongs from the Deepยป by Kelly Powell promised a dangerous world where sirens werenโ€™t a myth but a reality that tourists from all over the world came to witness. 

Instead of following this fantastical thread, Kelly Powell led the plot differently. It often felt like the author couldnโ€™t decide what genre she wanted to write, and ended up mixing mystery, fantasy, historical fiction (??), romance and a love letter to music. In turn, I found my mind wandering from one plot element to another, not able to focus or care about any of them.
