April 2020 Monthly Goals | Excited to read all books for O.W.L.s Magical Readathon!

Hello, fellow booklovers! I hope all of you are doing great and are ready to dive right into O.W.L.s Magical Readathon in April!

O.W.L.s and Booktube-a-thon are my favorite read-a-thons out there and I always make time for them. This year I wasn’t sure about OWLs as I had a deadline for the deliverance of reports at the end of April, but with COVID, social isolation and Courts not working full time, the deadline and my exams are pushed for the end of this year (maybe?). We don’t know quite yet what will happen, there have been a few decisions here and there from the Lawyers’ Bar but nothing concrete just yet. This definitely gives me more time to read and blog, and also gives me more time to study. I can now include some books I was planning to read for the internship but didn’t think I would have time for them.

O.W.L. Magical Readathon 2020 | A very analytical approach!

Following one of my New Year’s resolutions (i.e. read less study more), I planned to skip as many read-a-thons this year as I could, but I couldn’t make myself skip O.W.L.s Magical Readathon that takes place in April! O.W.L.s and Booktubeathon are the only two reading events I usually participate, and it felt wrong breaking the traditions.

To make my life a little bit easier, I decided to go through each career guide and pick one profession that requires fewer books. This resulted in me doing all the math so you wouldn’t have to! 😀 My career choice will also impact my “Spring TBR”, so I will be joining Top Ten Tuesday theme (partially) as well!

Winter Magical Read-a-thon 2019!

The Winter Magical Readathon is here!

G @BookRoast is an incredibly talented human being, and I’m appalled by the amount of detail and work that went into this read-a-thon. I was so not planning to throw myself into yet another read-a-thon this year, but after watching the Announcement video that went live at the beginning of this week, I couldn’t resist the temptation to Save Ginny and spend the most magical month of the year in Hogwarts!

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, please watch this Announcement video by BookRoast and join in on the fun!

The Harry Potter Book Tag | Beware of the spoilers!

As we are getting closer to the end of August, which means the end of the NEWTs read-a-thon (with me miserably failing to read the books on my NEWTs TBR), I’ve decided to cheer myself up a bit with a Sunday morning dedicated to all things Harry Potter.

I put my Harry Potter t-shirt, made myself a cup of tea in a Harry Potter mug, put the first movie on TV and sat down to write the Harry Potter book tag. This Sunday is starting magically!

Big thank you to my dear friend Jenna from Bookmark Your Thoughts, who thoughtfully nominated me to do this book tag! I feel like all of you already know and love Jenna’s blog (and her amazing personality), but if you, for some reason, are not familiar with her, please make sure to follow this link and befriend one of the kindest and nicest people in the bookish blogosphere!

Top 4 Childhood Favorites | Ft. Favorite Quotes from «The Little Prince»!

This week’s TTT (Top Ten Tuesday) theme is Childhood Favorites! I was a very avid reader when I was little, and I loved to re-read books. My grandma would always ask me why I was wasting time reading the same books over and over again when I could have picked any new book from my granddad’s huge home library.

Now I see her point, but back then in my early teens, re-reading my favorite books was my favorite pastime.

OWLs Read-a-Thon | Wrap Up

My goal was to follow an Auror career, which required me to complete a total of 5 OWLs: Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Potions, and Transfiguration. Out of 5 books that I initially planned to read, I only read 2, but I’m sure that other books could potentially fit in with the prompt as well. (Check my initial TBR list here!)

OWLs Read-a-Thon | My 2019 wizarding career!

That’s right! The most exciting Read-a-Thon for all Harry Potter fans is starting on the 1st of April. Have you chosen the career to pursue this year?

Created by Book Roast, this is a magical read-a-thon inspired by the first Hogwarts exams – OWLs (Ordinary Wizarding Level). You don’t have to be a Harry Potter fan to join in. You may join just for the sake of the challenge! But if you ARE Harry Potter fan, this is going to be a year long read-a-thon with a lot of fun challenges along the way.

Make sure to check out Book Roast’s video and download the Wizarding Career Leaflet!

School for Psychics (School for Psychics #1) by K.C. Archer | A “magic” school for adults

When someone asked me what I was currently reading, the best (and quickest) way to describe the book was – a “Harry Potter” for adults.

Not to say that it is extremely similar to the Harry Potter story, but every book that gives us some sort of magic / supernatural school, be it for children or for adults, will forever remind me of Harry Potter and how much I wished I would have gotten that Hogwarts letter.
