Cell by Stephen King | The perfect book for Halloween!

My first successful find at the local thrift bookshop, and also my first Stephen King novel (after a disastrous attempt to read «Carrie» many years ago) «Cell» was a great book to familiarize myself with King’s writing. It’s one of his dystopian books that isn’t scary at all, more of an atmospheric read, which was perfect for this time of the year. 

According to the blurb by Guardian on the front cover of my copy, I wouldn’t use my mobile for days after reading this book. That didn’t happen.

Books about Ghosts to Read this Halloween!

The spooky 31st night of October is approaching and there is nothing quite like scary stories to add to the Halloween spirit. Not everyone celebrates this holiday, but each year there are more and more adepts of wearing creepy costumes and eating abnormal amount of candies (thanks to the Americanization!).

Books about ghosts was the obvious choice. After all Halloween began as a pagan holiday – Samhain, when the veil between the world of the living and the dead was so thin, people believed that spirits could cross over. The Ninth Circle, Book 1: Fire by C.A. Harland | Where Charmed meets Supernatural!

Do you remember the best TV show of the end of 20th Century??? «Charmed» was the series that me and all of my friends watched back then! Whenever the new episode was on TV, we would interrupt our playtime and everyone would be off the streets to see the sisters battling demons.


We went as far as making our own Book of Shadows! I wish I’d have it with me to show to all of you! Basically, we made up our own demons, then found pictures from drawing books, magazines, newspapers that could be those demons and then made up our own verses that would kill them!
