How many Goodreads Choice Award nominees have you read?
This year I read only a couple of books from some of the categories, and decided not to vote (except on «The Fountains of Silence» by Ruta Sepetys). The winners were somewhat predictable, as everyone knows Goodreads Award is more of a popularity contest than anything else.
As I was preparing and organizing my reading life for next year, I realized that I don’t really know that many reading challenges, besides the most popular ones. Therefore, to be able to get ready for 2020, I had to equip myself with the complete knowledge of all yearly reading challenges that exist out there.
Of course, I couldn’t keep all of that knowledge just to myself and had to share my findings with you, in hopes that you too will add more reading challenges to this list.
December will be the busiest month of the year for most of the bloggers, YouTubers, and people in general. For us, it means the beginning of the Christmas season, but also the final stretch of the year to try and reach all of those reading goals we set up for ourselves almost 12 months ago. There will be a lot of new holiday content, best and worst of the year wrap-ups, and not much time left for reading.
I reached my GoodReads goal in July this year, which was the first time ever that I managed to read 50 books in 6 months! The second half of the year wasn’t as productive in terms of reading, and as much as I’d love to reach 100 books, I don’t think it will be possible.
I’m sure most of you experienced this before, when you start a new book just to realize that you aren’t in a mood for it, and then slowly fall into the reading slump. I’m not quite in a reading slump yet, but it’s getting closer and closer. I’d love to finally feel excited about reading!
This year has been weird in terms of reading. I’ve had some very high “highs” and some low “lows”. Meaning that sometimes I read tons of books, review them all, etc. And other times, I can barely manage to finish one book.
September hasn’t been great so far, reading and blogging wise. So I thought I’d do a quick update of what I am up to and why the heck am I reading so many books at the same time!
Big thank you to the wonderful fellow blogger Mandy @BookPrincessReviewsfor tagging me! I am honestly so happy that people still tag me even though I’ve been sooo lazy with tags! Thank you very very much!
GoodReadswas one of those first bookish apps I ever had on my phone, followed later on by Amino Books and numerous others (until my phone protested to me installing any app due to the lack of memory, although I think he was just tired of my bookish obsession. Yes, my phone is a he. We have daily conversations and got to know each other fairly well. Let me if you want to know more about the day-to-day life of me and my pal phone.)Continue reading “GoodReads Tag | Everything about my crazy reading schedule!”→
