My Most Anticipated Releases | March 2017

No month is quite the same in terms of book releases as the one that marks the beginning of a New Year. If I remember correctly, my ‘most anticipated books post’ in the month of January had over 10 different novels spread across a variety of genres. February brought us fewer exciting releases but still held its ground.

Now, March… This is the month that marks a new season – fresh, green and rejuvenated. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the books to be released during this marvelous time of the year. Continue reading “My Most Anticipated Releases | March 2017”

Autumnal Look for the Blog!

For a while now I’ve been wanting to adapt my blog to the seasonal mind-set and to the weather outside. I don’t know why, I just love it when my blog portrays exactly how I am feeling and right now I am feeling Autumn!

Instead of giving full revamp to my blog and my header image (that I quite like) I decided to add little autumn touches here and there (the same way I decorate my house for the season!).

Have a nice Sunday!

With Love,

Alex

A Song of Ice and Fire Read-a-Long!

http---www.pixteller.com-pdata-t-l-428257For all the people who wanted to read Game of Thrones books for a long time but didn’t have a time or will to pick up those massive books, or everyone who adores the series so much that they would love to reread them especially just before the next novel in the series comes out, so all the events are fresh in your mind making you crave for the next chapters, there is a A Song of Ice and Fire Read-a-Long going on right now!

It started on June 1st and is hosted by three booktubers, all the links will be at the end of this post. I know it’s mid June already but I am pretty sure if you start now you will be able to catch up with the rest of the pack very quickly, considering that it is a only one book per month campaign.

The rule is simple! One book of the series per month and we have 5 wonderful months of fantasy and dragons and, of course, Daenerys of House TargaryenDaenerys of House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the First of Her Name.

I absolutely love the Game of Thrones TV show and always wanted to read the books, especially because I bought a beautiful box set almost a year ago, but the books are huge and were scaring me to even start them. Also, since I’ve seen all seasons already and read the first book in Portuguese, it was hard to push myself to reread something I know so well already.

But this read-a-long is amazing and came just at the right time.

Also, don’t forget to join the GoodReads group for the chapters discussions!

P.S. I know it is summer and very hot outside,  but winter is coming!  …fairly soon

My Most Anticipated April 2016 Releases

April is going to be a great month for new book releases. What is interesting is that most books come out on the same day. Let the competition begin!

Starting with the 5th of April 2016, we will have a lot of great books coming out on that day:

April 5th - 2For a select group of girls, the Glittering Court offers a shot at a life they’ve only ever dreamed of, one of luxury, glamour, and leisure. To high-born Adelaide, whose wealthy family is forcing her into a loveless marriage, the Glittering Court represents something else: the chance to chart her own destiny, and adventure in an unspoiled, prosperous new land across the sea.

After a chance meeting with the dazzling Cedric Thorn, Adelaide poses as a servant to join the crop of impoverished girls he promises to transform into proper ladies. But her familiarity with upper class life comes with a price: she must hide her identity from her new friends, mysterious refugee Mira and fiery former laundress Tamsin, and most importantly, from Cedric himself—even though she’s falling in love with him.

Everything begins to crumble when Cedric discovers Adelaide’s ruse, and she catches the eye of a powerful young governor, who wants her for a wife. She didn’t leave the gilded cage of her old life behind just to become someone else’s property. But nothing is as daunting—or as wonderful—as the potent, forbidden attraction simmering between Adelaide and Cedric. One that, if acted on, would make them both outcasts in a wild, dangerous, uncharted world, and possibly lead them to their deaths.

Finally April will end on a high note, just as it started. On 26th of April 2016 we will get two more great releases:

Reunited with her family, who have taken refuge with enemies of Khalid, and Tariq, her childhood sweetheart, she should be happy. But Tariq now commands forces set on destroying Khalid’s empire. Shahrzad is almost a prisoner caught between loyalties to people she loves. But she refuses to be a pawn and devises a plan.
