The spooky 31st night of October is approaching and there is nothing quite like scary stories to add to the Halloween spirit. Not everyone celebrates this holiday, but each year there are more and more adepts of wearing creepy costumes and eating abnormal amount of candies (thanks to the Americanization!).
Books about ghosts was the obvious choice. After all Halloween began as a pagan holiday – Samhain, when the veil between the world of the living and the dead was so thin, people believed that spirits could cross over. Bonfires and costumes were supposed to ward them off. Continue reading “Books about Ghosts to Read this Halloween!”
I’ve been loving this monthly “meme” of mine – looking for new releases, see what everyone else is excited about and just staying on top of the bookish market. So of course October was not going to be an exception and here I am once more to list all of the new books I am the most excited about!
We had a massive influx of new and exciting books in September, and October is kind of falling behind, not being able to weigh up to September’s hype. But that is alright, we, readers, do need calmer months to make sure we have the time to read ALL OF THOSE BOOKS! Continue reading “Most Anticipated Releases | October 2017”
According to the Astronomical calendar, Autumn begins today, on the 22nd of September! And to celebrate the beginning of Autumn I thought I’d share the list of the books I am most excited to read during this wonderful season!
Let’s start with my physical TBR pile. Most of these books are recent purchases and I can’t wait to pick one of them up on a cozy rainy day. Continue reading “Books I am reading this Autumn!”
Autumn is one of the best reading seasons – we finally start to pull out cosy blankets from the closets and light our candles (my first sandalwood candle of this seasons is burning right now as I am writing this post). There is nothing quite like the sound of wind and rain, grey clouds and mist, while travelling to the epic kingdoms, other planets or scary future Earth.
If that doesn’t sound perfect, I don’t know what does!
In the spirit of upcoming rainy days, here is a list of all reasons WHY YOU SHOULD READ MORE POST-APOCALYPTIC BOOKS. This year has been amazing so far in terms of new genres, new releases and new-to-me authors. There were quite a lot of them that I would like to read more from, considering that their books made it to my 2017 favourites list that I will be sharing with all of you closer to the end of this year.
Surprisingly, almost all of them write General Fiction novels and it’s not a genre I pick up often, but when I do, it usually turns out to be a great experience. Maybe I should dedicate more of my reading time to Adult Fiction? Growing up is a very complicated process, especially when your reading tastes grows with you. September will be an AMAZING month for the bookish community! When it was time to write this post, I actually felt overwhelmed by the amount of great / popular books that are coming out in September. Continue reading “My Most Anticipated Releases | September 2017”
This is a very long-coming post. Usually, when people start a book blog, rating protocol is one of the first things they think about. Afterall, that is what you will be doing for the most part of the blog – reviewing and rating books. On almost every blog you can find the rating system and its explanation to help people situate themselves within the wide array of stars, roses, tea cups and other symbols picked by thousands of book bloggers.
It’s been what feels like a very long time since I properly dove into the great fantasy worlds, full of magic, castles, knights and epic wars. And there is a great variety of new and old fantasy series and standalones to choose from!
These are just a few of the books I’ve got my eye on for quite a long time. I would love to hear your thoughts on any of them in the comments down below! Continue reading “Epic Fantasy series I am interested in!”
