I am sure you all have heard of Booktube-A-Thon and seen a lot of announcement videos about it on YouTube. Obviously, I don’t make YouTube videos, but I would love to join the reading challenges.
Booktube-A-Thon will start on the 24th and end on the 30th of July, and even though I will have my usual work schedule, I have faith in my reading abilities to complete all of the challenges (maybe except the last one…). The new year started on a very high note, with many new books and of course with the first classic of the year – «Pride and Prejudice» by Jane Austen. I bought this beautiful (very classic) edition in Russian and absolutely devoured it!
It turned out to be way more interesting than I expected it to be, as I am not a fan of romances (and for some reason I associated it to be a pure romance) but it was so much more! It’s one of the best «character» novels that I’ve ever read. Continue reading “Classic a Month | Reading Challenge”
There is a first time for everything, right? I usually don’t tend to participate in read-a-thons or other challenges because… I am not sure why! Can’t handle the pressure? Don’t read quick enough? I don’t know!
Bookish Bingo by Bekka @ PrettyDeadlyBlog looks so good that I just have to give it a try! Continue reading “First Time Participating in Bookish Bingo | Winter Edition”
It is the 2nd of January and I have only just started to write down my resolutions for the New Year. Way to be organized!
This time around, the end of the year felt very overwhelming. There were too many things to do (or too many things I wanted to do) but I wasn’t fully prepared for.
Being a fanatic organizational and a control freak (Yes, here. I admit it), the moments of my life when I can’t fully grab the reins of the time horse translate a lot onto my mood and well-being. This year it is all about to change! (Hope big or Go home!) Continue reading “2017 Resolutions | It is time for a NEW ME!”
UPDATE: Download the updated version of Classic-a-Month printable for 2019!
It’s the last day of the year and frankly, I am (A) very glad that 2016 is finally over and there is a chance that 2017 will be so much better, and (B) stupefied about how quickly time has passed!
One of the things that I want to improve in the coming year is reading classics! I say it every year and every year I failed miserably. Continue reading “2017 Reading Challenge + Free Printable!”
I did it, guys! My yearly goal was not very high this time – only 50 books. But I am so proud to be completing this ahead of time!
(Also I just bought a bunch of AMAZING books that should be arriving soon, so I hope to go crazy mode in November! i.e. Closing myself in the room and reading 24/7!)
If anyone interested to see what books I read this year, here is the link —-> GoodReads Challenge 2016
Have you completed your GoodReads challenge this year? If not, how many books do you have left?
For all the people who wanted to read Game of Thrones books for a long time but didn’t have a time or will to pick up those massive books, or everyone who adores the series so much that they would love to reread them especially just before the next novel in the series comes out, so all the events are fresh in your mind making you crave for the next chapters, there is a A Song of Ice and Fire Read-a-Long going on right now!
It started on June 1st and is hosted by three booktubers, all the links will be at the end of this post. I know it’s mid June already but I am pretty sure if you start now you will be able to catch up with the rest of the pack very quickly, considering that it is a only one book per month campaign.
The rule is simple! One book of the series per month and we have 5 wonderful months of fantasy and dragons and, of course, Daenerys of House TargaryenDaenerys of House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the First of Her Name.
I absolutely love the Game of Thrones TV show and always wanted to read the books, especially because I bought a beautiful box set almost a year ago, but the books are huge and were scaring me to even start them. Also, since I’ve seen all seasons already and read the first book in Portuguese, it was hard to push myself to reread something I know so well already.
But this read-a-long is amazing and came just at the right time.
Also, don’t forget to join the GoodReads group for the chapters discussions!
P.S. I know it is summer and very hot outside, but winter is coming! …fairly soon
