Hi, guys! The last couple of weeks have been so hectic that I feel like I haven’t talked to you in a while. I had a big chunk of my posts written and scheduled for July, so this is the first one I’m writing in a long time!
My reading has been going pretty well so far. As you know, I’m traveling through books this month, and I already visited 3 out of 4 destinations. I hope to read the final book and travel to Afganistan this week, so I can start The Reading Rush week with a freshly set TBR 😀
Phew! It’s officially summer in Portugal. The temperature is rising every day, and I still haven’t gone to the beach this summer. I even put it on my to-do list, but there are always more important things to do.
This year, with everything that is happening, I won’t be traveling anywhere. But I really love visiting new places and I still wanted to entertain this idea. So I decided to create a little challenge for myself. I dug through my large TBR pile and found books set in different countries.
Looking back on June TBR that I created at the end of May, my motivation to read was definitely very high. Sadly, for the first week of June, I barely read anything. I kept picking up books and reading a couple of pages from each of them nothing really capturing my attention. I kept making to-do lists of all the things I wanted to accomplish, but couldn’t focus on a single one of them. My head was elsewhere and all I could do was watch something to get myself distracted.
That’s it! We are officially halfway through the year. I recently saw Dini mentioning how these six months passed very quickly but at the same time it felt like we lived multiple years in a span of just a couple of months and I definitely agree with that.
July tends to be a “chill” month for book releases. But not this year! I was able to find 9 (NINE!) books I was excited about, and to tell you a little secret, some of them I already read and LOVED! *wink*
2020 has been very tragic, but also very important, year, and we are only halfway through it. From COVID induced quarantine and the need to take care of ourselves and the others to the BLM movement and absolutely horrible events that made the world finally revolt against the injustice and racism, 2020 is one of the most important years of my life and I really hope that we take something from this, learn on our mistakes and try to build a better future for ourselves and for the future generations.
I’ve never done a Kindle book haul before! In general, I rarely talk about my Kindle, as e-books don’t excite me as much as my physical TBRs. But I’ve been meaning to share with you some of the e-books I got for my Kindle for quite a while now, so this week’s Top Ten Tuesday theme couldn’t be more perfect! Well… maybe not so perfect as the actual theme is to talk about the books you’ve added to the TBR and forgotten why. But let’s just focus on the first part instead.
There are so many amazing books coming out this summer. Of course, I couldn’t resist and requested them all! I never expected for all of my requests to get approved, but that happened and now my ARCs TBR is soooo big that I feel the need to dedicate at least one month to clear it out a bit.
I’m usually so excited to sit down and write my monthly wrap up, but this time it’s proving to be a very daunting task 😀
Surprisingly, May wasn’t my favorite month this year, even though my birthday was very nice [I will share my b-day bookhaul later this month, as soon as all the book orders arrive ❤ ]. The weather has been cooperating as well. It became hot very suddenly. One day we were wearing jeans and jackets and the next one we had to jump right into shorts and tops [i.e. the less amount of fabric possible]. It is nice, but I definitely wasn’t prepared to bring my summer dresses just yet. I realized that I really need to do some summer clothes online spree soon. Yay!
This summer is going to be full of so many new releases I’m excited about! I was also very lucky to get approved for the most ARCs I requested on NetGalley and now I have over 10 to go through next month. It’s going to be a very long TBR, but hopefully I’ll get to all of them soon.
I picked various books from different genres, so I hope you’ll also find some to add to your TBR, and let me know what other new release you’re excited about!
Hello! I hope you all are doing well! Are you almost done with college / school assignments? Are you looking forward to the summer vacation?
It’s finally proper summer in Portugal. We went from wearing light jackets and trousers to wearing bikinis in just a day, and I’m still trying to adjust to that sudden change of weather. The good thing is that we are actually allowed to go to the beach [as long as we respect the established distancing rules]. My plan for this weekend is to find the remotest place, bring my book and stay there for as long as possible.
Look at me doing another book tag! I love seeing how other people read, I think it’s the most fascinating thing, together with organization and daily routines. 😀 Thank you, Rafaela for tagging me! Make sure to check her blog if you don’t follow her already!
New week, new books and new to-do lists! Don’t you just love Mondays? 🙂 Monday and Friday are both my favorite days of the week, because for me they mean a new beginning – either the new working week, or new working weekend 😀 I just love making to-do lists and take every opportunity to write those tasks down.
I finally sat down and sorted all of the tag, you kindly tagged me at. I’m pretty sure that this is my first book tag of this year. Yay! So I decided to combine your questions in one post and share my answers, especially because some questions were similar. I also found some photos from a while back when we were allowed to go outside and enjoy the sunshine, and it really made me miss those times, but of course, staying inside and follow the rules is more important now.
May the force be with you! I hope you’re having a wonderful Star Wars day! It’s time for me to share my reading, blogging, and life goals with you for the month of May! And uuuuh, I’m so excited!
Do you remember me saying that this year I was going to read less than usual? Yeah… well, that’s not happening. I’ve been reading way more than usual, and I’m going with it for now. I think in May things will slowly get back to normal, which means crazy work hours, but I’m being hopeful that I can find some extra hours in my days to consume all of these books.
Who would have thought that April would turn out to be one of the best months of this year [so far]?! Obviously, we are still under quarantine, not allowed to go anywhere other than work and food shopping, and COVID is still a very serious threat. So considering all of that, somehow I managed to read 18 books in April!
This is by far the most I’ve ever read in just one month. What is more curious though, is that most of the books I read were 4-5 star reads! Even in terms of quality, April was the best reading month of this year.
