September was mostly about fantasy series and I’m planning to dedicate more time this year to finish some of the series I’ve started this and last year. Today I’m joining Top Ten Tuesday meme, hosted by Jana @ThatArtsyReaderGirl to share with you my Fall TBR, but mostly to talk about the books I’ll be prioritizing to hopefully finish some series!
I recently organized all of the series I’ve ever started / finished and DNF’d most of them. And was left with 22 series that I’m currently in the middle of. Out of these 22 series: I’m caught up with 6 and I want to finish / caught up with another 8.
FANTASY SERIES I WANT TO FINISH THIS YEAR

1 – Impossible Times trilogy by Mark Lawrence
I started this sci-fi trilogy last year (in fact, all three books were released last year) and really loved the 1st and 2nd books. But for some reason, I’ve been avoiding the third and final one. I was meant to read it during the Reading Rush but didn’t have the time for it. It was also on my August TBR and once again I didn’t get to it. Hopefully, I will read it soon!

2 – Monsters of Verity duology by Victoria Schwab
I started this sci-fi trilogy last year (in fact, all three books were released last year) and really loved the 1st and 2nd books. But for some reason, I’ve been avoiding the third and final one. I was meant to read it during the Reading Rush but didn’t have the time for it. It was also on my August TBR and once again I didn’t get to it. Hopefully, I will read it soon!

3 – The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken
Another series I didn’t love but do own all three books. I think there are more books now out, but I want to at least finish the 3rd one and count it as done! Besides, I love dystopia… just not the biggest fan of this series, I guess.
I promise not all series on this list are the ones I dislike!

4 – The Daevabad trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty
«The City of Brass» was a very solid first book in this new fantasy series, and now that the final book is out I’m hoping to read books 2 and 3 back to back and finally binge a series I love. It’s been a while since I did that.

5 – Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger
This middle-grade series is so engaging, entertaining, and adorable! I’m currently on book 5 and have all intentions to catch up with it, so I can read the final book when it’s released next year.

6 – The Diviners by Libba Bray
I read the first book earlier this year (was it in March?) and enjoyed it. I’ve been meaning to keep reading one book every month but that didn’t happen… Now that I’m more or less done with my GoodReads goal I can focus on chunkier books without feeling bad about it.

7 – The Burning by Evan Winter
Technically I’m all caught up with this series. I read the first book «The Rage of Dragons» in April and LOVED it so much! The second book is coming out in November and I already pre-ordered it!
These (and maybe a couple of others) are the books on my Fall TBR and fantasy series I’m planning on wrapping up this year so that in 2021 I can finally start some new series and work through my physical TBR. 🙂
What books are you planning to read this Fall? Have you read any of the series I mentioned?

I have The Diviners series on my TBR too. Maybe I’ll try and grab a copy of it soon!

I absolutely loved the Impossible Times trilogy! The third book definitely doesn’t disappoint – everything is very neatly tied up! 😀
I really need to read the Monsters of Verity series… I’ve had the first two books on my shelf for ages!

I tried reading the third book in the Impossible Times trilogy a few days ago and couldn’t get into it. But I think it’s more of my reading slump than anything else. I will need to give it another try soon. 🙂

Good idea – I thought it was a brilliant conclusion but its sometimes best to leave a book and come back to it when you’re in the mood for it! 😀

Okay, I just saw the Keeper of the Lost Cities series going on sale at my local bookstore the other day but skipped over them. Would you rec?! Shall I scoop them up because I am weak and can’t resist?! LOL I really enjoyed the Monsters of Verity series although it’s one of Schwabs’ least popular series. I hope you like the final! Happy reading 🙂

Highly recommend! I loooove this series so so much. I decided to only review book one, and then just enjoy the rest, it tends to be a very relaxing reading experience. ❤

I love reading series, but I ALWAYS get stuck in the middle of them. I need to do like you did and really look at where I am in all of them. Smart idea!
Happy TTT!

The number of my unfinished series is very overwhelming 😀 But I hope this helps you to focus on one at a time and hopefully finish them.

I need to get caught up on all things Victoria Schwab, though I’m making my way through her books. I read the first two Diviners books too and loved them. I have the third book so I hope to read that one soon!

The Diviners will be a perfect book to read in the autumn. I just want a rainy day, candles, a cup of tea, and get cozy with the 2nd book in the Diviners series. ❤

Good luck with finishing these series! I have so many that I need to finish/continue with and The Darkest Minds is one of them. I read the first book and loved it, but for whatever reason I never continued with the series and I really want to. Might have to read The Darkest Minds all over again though. 😛

Ahah, I know the feeling. 😀 There are so many books I probably should re-read before continuing reading the rest of the series. Lol

Good luck with trying to catch up on your series! You gave me the inspiration to go through my Goodreads and finish off the series I haven’t finished. I’m hoping to feel very accomplished, and I hope you do too! 😊

Good Luck, hun! ❤ I hope you don't have many series to finish. You seem to be better at binge reading them than me. 😀

Thank you! Ha! I’ve been picking a lot of series that already have the books all released, which makes it easier! ☺️

Checking unfinished series is a scary thing to do! 😀 I def had (and have) too many of them. I hope your list won’t be that long and you’ll be able to finish some of them soon 🙂

I really love The Diviners series, so I do hope you’ll continue that and that you’ll enjoy the books. 😀 I’ll admit, the final novel was a bit disappointing, but as a whole, the series is still one of my all time favorites, mostly because of its fantastic cast of characters. Good luck on continuing these series, Alex!

I still need to finish The Diviners series, too. But I think I’ll have to reread the first one because I feel like I’ve forgotten so much. 🙂
