Summer Book Haul | I couldn’t resist these new releases!

Even with COVID-19, quarantine, and many releases being pushed forward, this summer was still particularly good, with tons of new books to choose from. I was lucky to receive quite a lot of ARCs of my most anticipated releases, and the ones I didn’t receive I decided to purchase!

This haul won’t be absurdly huge, but I did get myself a couple of incredible books that I’m dying to get to. Some of them were on my July and August TBRs, but with so many other books (mostly ARCs) that I needed to prioritize, I didn’t get to them all. Some of them are still on their way, as shipping times has been much longer lately [as you all know]. So you might see these books appear on my TBRs for the upcoming months.

His tale of ghostly happenings and encounters with malevolent spirits became a worldwide phenomenon, rivaling The Amityville Horror in popularity—and skepticism… more

the warehouse by rob hart

Cloud isn’t just a place to work. It’s a place to live. And when you’re here, you’ll never want to leave.
Paxton never thought he’d be working for Cloud, the giant tech company that’s eaten much of the American economy. Much less that he’d be moving into one of the company’s sprawling live-work facilities.

I already have plans for most of these books. «Burn our Bodies Down» and «The Pull of the Stars» will probably be on my October TBR, and I still hope to read «Home Before Dark» this month, in time for Booksandlala’s book club live show. But I haven’t planned anything for the other books, so I’d love to know which one you think I should read first! 🥰

If you’ve read any of these book, let me know what you thought of them! Do you have any of these on your TBR?

    1. The Midnight Library is winning the poll. 😀 I wasn’t going to pick it up in September (as I have other reading plans I’m very excited about) but seeing how excited everyone is about it, makes me want to read it asap 😀

  2. I am so excited for Home Before Dark! It’s one of my most anticipated releases for the year. I should really buy it sometime soon, but I’ve been pretty good about not buying too many books this year (it was a real problem haha). The Death of Vivek Oji sounds intriguing. It got my vote for the poll! Which is a cool idea by the way. 🙂

  5. I’ve read one book by Haig before. The Humans I think it’s called? Human is definitely in the title! It wasnt my fav. I loved the premise but I found it a little bit too cheesy by the end and thought that perhaps Haig just isn’t to my personal taste…. but then he comes along with his new release and I’m sooooooo curious to read it! So if you could do me a favour and read that soon and tell me then whether or not to read it I’d really appreciate it ….. not presumptuous at all am I 😂😂😂😂😂😂 LOL Alex what am I like! But I definitely will be keeping an eye out to see whenever you do read it. I hope at least one of the books in this haul will become a new all time favourite. Fab list of books ☺️☺️☺️💛❤️

    1. Ahaha, I will try to squeeze it in my TBR either in September or October 😀 The only book I read by Matt Haig is also the Humans, and I liked it but didn’t love it. So hopefully, this one will be better and make me fall in love with his adult books. Actually, I read his children books last year as well – 2 or 3 of them and they are about Christmas ❤
