June 2020 Monthly Goals | Getting NetGalley ARCs under control!

I’m very curious to see your June TBRs!

There are so many amazing books coming out this summer. Of course, I couldn’t resist and requested them all! I never expected for all of my requests to get approved, but that happened and now my ARCs TBR is soooo big that I feel the need to dedicate at least one month to clear it out a bit.

This month I won’t be setting many goals for myself, as I’m still working on things from the previous months. I still need to finish my study notes, I still need to declutter and put away winter clothes, I still am planning to read «The City of Brass», etc. etc. These things will definitely get done in June. And because my TBR is already out of control, I don’t need to put any additional pressure on myself.

JUNE MONTHLY GOALS:

1 – 20 Books of Summer | Reading Challenge
This will be my second time participating and I’m very excited about it! The “20 Books of Summer” was created by Cathy and all you need to do is read AND review 20 books this summer. You can change the number of books to what suits you best.
This challenge begins on June 1st and runs until Agust 31st.
2 – Try to read as many ARCs as humanly possible?
At the moment I have 20 ARCs on my NetGalley shelf. But 4 of them I already read and just need to reviews. So that leaves me with 16 to read in the next couple of months. I prepared something exciting for July, therefore I’d like to read as many of ARCs as possible in June.

Here is the full list:

Let me know which one should I read first and if you read any of them, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

June will be the month I try to catch up with million things on my to-do list and try to clear my NetGalley queue. Surprisingly, even with so many pending ARCs my NetGalley feedback ration is still close to 90% and that’s exactly where I like to keep it!

What are your plans for June? What book are you the most excited about?

    1. Thank you, hun! June has been very slow reading wise, but I was finally able to finish my first book yesterday and hoping to read a chunck of the City of Brass today 😀 I hope you’re doing well! Next week I will definitely be back blog hopping. ❤

  1. 20 books of summer seems fun to do! I hope you enjoy it 🙂 I’m currently reading Beach Read and it’s just what I needed. It has the right balance of humour, snark and romance ❤ Happy reading Alex!

  3. OMG my NetGalley tbr looks horrific!! Need to get a handle on it.
I’m interested in One To Watch, and Mexican Gothic. Also need to read Girl, Woman, Other.
Did they change the name of Alex North’s book? I thought it was called The Shadows 😳

  5. Like several others have mentioned, I cannot wait to hear your thoughts on Mexican Gothic! I loved Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia. I hope her next book is just as good! The Unadoptables looks freaking adorable too! I hope you enjoy all of these 😀

  6. Wow, you have so many ARCs on Netgalley! I think I have 4 or 5 and I feel like that’s out of control, so I can’t even imagine how you’re feeling with 16. I do have a lot of physical ARCs though, so I am hoping I can get my ARCs under control in the next couple months too. GOOD LUCK! ❤

    1. I had 5 before I decided to request a ton of books 😀 I never thought I’d be approved for most of them, so it was a very pleasant surprise, but at the same time it quickly got out of control 😀 Physical arcs! that’s cool! I wish I could receive more physical ARCs. I hope you’ll be able to get to some of them in June 🙂

    1. I just found out that G is hosting a Hogsmead inspired readathon during the last week of June and I really want to participate… I might try to fit some ARCs in those prompt 😀 Good luck with your TBR!

      1. Thank you!!! I was also really excited for the Hogsmead readathon even though I bombed The O.W.Ls. But now I am not sure I want to participate in it after what she said. I dont think it is the right thing to do. G was saying that she is thinking about changing the name and hosting a similar readathon but without HP reference. I might participate in that.

  7. Wowsers, that’s a hefty TBR, but if anyone can do it – you can! 😍 I’ve heard some good things about Beach Read, and Emer from A Little Haze Book Blog RAVED about Every Little Piece of My Heart so hopefully you’ll enjoy them as well 💛 All the best & happy reading! 🥰

    1. Thank you! I really hope so, although reading in June has been very slooooow. 😀
I requested Mexican Gothic and Every Little Piece of My Heart on NetGalley after seeing Emer’s reviews, so partially it’s all her fault 😀

        1. Yeah, you know what, 30% is actually pretty conservative, I’m gonna say probably over half of my recent TBR are just all books I’ve read about on yours & Emer’s blog posts 😂

  8. I really want to get my hands on Beach Read! I’ve heard so many good things about it and I think it’d make for a perfect summer read! All of your ARCs look amazing though — I also can’t wait to read Mexican Gothic because ugh, that cover? Even though it’s probably going to be outside of my comfort zone since I’m such a chicken 😂 Good luck with your summer challenge — you totally got this! Happy reading, Alex!

    1. Thank you!! I just finished Mexican Gothic a few days ago and can confirm that it’s a bit creepy – like gothic horror kind of thing, but nothing I couldn’t handle 😀 And I started reading Beach Read yesterday. I’m loving the banter so far, so funny and witty ❤
