The Christmas Book Blogger Tag | Sharing my favorite Christmas moments!

As I sat here listening to the Harry Potter playlist and writing posts for the upcoming weeks (and also sneakily blog hopping and reading all of the amazing holiday content that you, guys, are putting out). I kept seeing more and more festive book tags! And even though it takes me months (sometimes years) to do the tag I was actually tagged for (I’m so sorry for that!!), apparently, doing the Christmass-y tags doesn’t require any motivation whatsoever!

I’ve seen the “Joy of Christmas” and also “The Festive Christmas Book Tag” going around, which I’m planning to do soon. But today I found this amazing “The Christmas Book Blogger Tag” on Confessions of the Book Geek that was created by Between my Lines.

1 – What Is Your Favourite Christmas Scene In A Book?

Uuh, there are many! To keep my answer Christmassy, I’d say Christmas at Hogwarts! There is nothing better than a warm fireplace, magically decorated castle and tables heaping with hot food!

I also loved the beginning of the Bear and the Nightingale, and the feel of cold, wild Russia that it gave off.

2 – Do You Have Any Christmas Book Traditions?

Absolutely! I love to cozy up with a good book on Christmas Day. I try to wake up before anyone else, wear my most comfortable pjs, a warm robe, make myself a large cup of tea (maybe get some sweets from the night before, if I didn’t overeat during the Christmas dinner) and cuddle in one the armchair with the book!

This is the moment I really look forward to!

3 – Do You Prefer To Get Presents Of Book Vouchers Or Books?

It doesn’t really matter. If someone gives me a book, usually they ask before what book I want. And if they give me a voucher I’ll be very very grateful, and go to the bookstore on the 26th of December to buy new books 😀

So I guess the voucher is “slightly” better because I get to anticipate the moment of choosing and buying new books!

4 – Do You Give Books As Presents?

Sadly, I don’t! My family and friends don’t really read, and I don’t want to force them to do something they don’t like by gifting them books.

5 – What Bookish Item Is On Your Christmas Wishlist?

One of the Owlcrate mugs ❤ I think they are the most beautiful mugs out there, and I would really love one for Christmas. (Maybe I should show this to my family? *hint* *hint*) 😀

6 – What 3 Books Would You Love Santa To Have In His Sack For You?

I’m planning to do a separate post for the books I’d like to see under my Christmas Tree, but honestly, any beautiful Harry Potter editions would be the greatest gift! I also have 3 illustrated editions, and I think the 4th one will be one of my Christmas gifts 🙂

7 – Fake Christmas Tree Or Real Christmas Tree?

When I was little, we used to get real trees every year. Now I much prefer the fake ones, I can just use the same one every year without a need to chop trees off…

8 – What’s Your Favourite Thing About Christmas?

Oh, I think I already answered that before 😀

Let’s see… I really love the whole preparation process: decorating my house, buying gifts, wrapping gifts, sending Christmas cards, creating a Christmas dinner menu and spending most of the 24th of December cooking multiple tasty dishes!

9 – What Christmas Book Would You Recommend?

You can pick any of the books from my “Holiday Reads Recommendations”. If I would have to pick just one I’d say «Little Women» by Louisa May Alcott.

10 – What Dish On Your Christmas Menu Are You Most Looking Forward To?

Hmm… all of them?! 😀 I love preparing many different entrees, from salads to cheese boards and big selection of olives. Lol Also, it has become a family tradition to always have red caviar for Christmas dinner. I’m very much looking forward to that! Mmmh..

11 – When Do You Open Your Christmas Presents?

After midnight! Usually, by that time the guests head home and only family members are left to open the presents.

12 – What’s Your Favourite Christmas Song?

Lovely Emer @ A Little Haze Book Blog recently posted her list of Christmas songs, and I really loved Sam Smith’s cover of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”.

13 – Are You Dreaming Of A White Christmas?

Yes! 100%! So I could do this on Christmas Day:

    1. I hope you’ll have fun answering these questions! (though I noticed that some of these are very similar to the Joy of Christmas book tag *facepalm*) 😀

It’s been over 10 years since the last time we had a real Christmas tree, I think I just got used to (1) not having that amazing smell of Christmas tree anymore, and (2) also not having needles from the tree all over the place 😀

I’m with you in wanting to buy books for family members but them not really reading… I still buy books for all the children though but how I wish I could just buy books for everyone…and then get to borrow and read the books for myself lol!!! Thank you for the tag <33

    1. Ahaha, that’s true! If my boyfriend loved to read I would probably just buy him books all the time and then borrow them 😀 And I just bought a beautiful collection of Chritsmas stories for his cousin, she is 8 and I hope this book will make her interested in reading.

  2. Thank you SO much for tagging me, love! Christmas at Hogwarts?? YES, PLEASE 😍 & look at those wonderful mugs! If I could buy only one thing during my whole life (apart from books, of course) I would buy mugs of all the designs on this planet to never use them 😂
    I hope you’re having a wonderful December, honey ❤️

    1. Looking forward to your answers! I know this time of the year is VERY busy with all the yearly wrap up posts, but I hope you still have some time to squeeze in this tag ❤
And omg yes! There are certain mugs I bought JUST for insta shoots, and I never use them for anything else cause I'm scared I'll break them 😀

Those mugs look adorable! I want one… although I don’t NEED anymore mugs!

    1. Thank you! and I hope you’ll have fun answering these questions 🙂
I don’t know a single person who’d have too many mugs or too many books, so you definitely can add one more mug to your collection 😀 Ooh, yes! I can’t wait to wake up on Christmas morning. When I was little I used to be excited about Christmas morning because of the presents, now I’m excited about the quite time to read and relax after loud Christmas dinner. #adulthood lol

      1. I did, the post will be up this week! 😀

Hahaha you are right about that! Mugs and books go hand in hand right? ☺️
Haha! It’s funny how our perspectives change, but still, the day is enjoyed! 😀

  4. Thank you for tagging me! This looks like so much fun!
Your Christmas bookish tradition sounds like the perfect way to spend the day – may have to start a version of this tradition for myself! 🙂

    1. I hope you do! (and do the tag as well 😀 ) Christmas mornings are usually so quite, because everyone stays up late the night before and then tends to sleep in. And I especially love when it’s a gloomier Christmas day. But this year they are promising lots of sun during Chritsmas week… which is also not bad but doesn’t fit my image of the “perfect Christmas day”. lol

  5. I loved reading this tag! I was looking for a Christmas tag to do and this is so lovely, I might do it ❤
I'm probably gonna copy your answer about Hogwarts, is there even another equally good scene? hahaha

    1. 😀 You’re right, I wouldn’t be able to think about any other magical Chritmassy place, maybe only Hogsmead? 🙂 And I didn’t tag you in this one, because I wanted to tag you in the other Christmassy book tag 😀 ahaha There are so many! It should be live now, hope you’ll have as much time as I did answering the prompts *wink*

  6. So cute! Thank you for tagging me, darlin’! I just got time to actually work on some posts, so mines coming up in a day or so! I totally copied your answer for question one ha-ha!

Those OwlCrate mugs are so adorable! I love them! I have so many mugs though … and got more for Christmas … so I think I need to take a break on the mugs for a while ha-ha! Are you going to go see Little Women (the new one) in theaters??

YOU WAIT UNTIL MIDNIGHT? I could never ha-ha! I grow WAY too curious ha-ha!!! And that song by Sam Smith is so beautiful! I love it so much! I love a lot of Lindsey Stirling’s Christmas music ❤

I hope you had a lovely Christmas, darlin'! ❤

    1. You’re more than welcome! 🙂 Ahaha, I don’y actually have that many mugs for drinking, but I have tons of HP ones on my bookshelves, they are too precious to actually use 😀

My family likes to open gifts after midnight, but I would prefer to open in the morning ❤
