Holiday Reads Recommendations!

I’m starting this Holiday series with Top Ten Tuesday meme and some book recommendations for the most wonderful time of the year. This post contains a bunch of my all time favorite books. I tried to include different categories for different readers so that no-one would feel left out during the magical Christmas time!

1 – Walk down nostalgia lane:

Christmas is all about nostalgia. Do you remember writing letter to Santa Klaus? Preparing the treats, decorating the Christmas tree with all the “forbidden to touch” bobbles, stars and candies? And trying to stay awake to not miss the visit of Santa Klaus? These magic moments is what we need to try and relive through our favorite childhood books!

2 – Holiday Classics for pickier readers:

Even the most captious readers will enjoy the all-time favorite classic novels that are perfect for this time of the year. I recently read ยซLittle Womenยป and adored how sweet the story was! Can’t wait for the movie to come out.

3 – Large variety of books for Fantasy lovers:

Fantasy is one of the best genres to read during the colder season (in my opinion). There is nothing better than to cuddle up under big fuzzy blanket and dive into a new world, filled with magic and adventure.

4 – If you love a good retelling:

Sometimes we can get tired of all favorites but still would love the experience the story, maybe with a new twist. I recently discovered a retelling of Nutcracker that was such a joy to read!

5 – Or maybe you prefer a heartbreaking Historical Fiction:

I rarely read Historical Fiction, but every single book that I pick up I usually love with all my heart. Just like fantasy, Historical Fiction is perfect for winter.

6 – And, finally, for the younger readers:

Or adults! ๐Ÿ™‚ Last month I read ยซA Boy Called Christmasยป by Matt Haig, and loved it so much!

What books do you recommend to read for the Holidays? Have you read any of the books featured in this post?

  2. I love what you did with this weeks TTT. And yes, I read Harry Potter for the first time around Christmas, so it will always be associated with the holidays and winter for me! I’ve heard great things about The Bear and the Nightingale. I need to check that one out!

    1. Thank you, honey ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, me too! Whenever I think about re-reading HP, I instantly imagine the Christmas tree, large armchair, cozy blanket, fairy lights, candles and me with the book. <— exactly what I'm planning for this year's Christmas day ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Me too! I got the earc last year, read it during the Christmas season but didn’t post my review in time, and then it felt kind of weird posting a Christmassy book in January, so I saved my review of it for this December ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. Thank you for this list!! The Enchanted Sonata has been everywhere lately idk, and I’m intrigued by it, so I’m definitely gonna check it and see if it’s something I’d enjoy … But I’m definitely gonna read Little Women! I started it before coming to Germany but only managed to read a few pages, so I want to finish before the year ends. ๐Ÿ™‚
