This might be the best or the worst idea I’ve ever had, but I’m participating in this year’s the Reading Rush annual read-a-thon that runs from 22nd to 28th of July, and we have a week to complete all the challenges!
Booktube-a-thon (the old name of the Reading Rush) was my very first read-a-thon back in 2017. And to my surprise I was able to complete all the challenges and read a total of 7 books – here are my Booktube-a-thon TBR and Wrap Up from 2017!

2019 reading challenges
1/ Read a book with purple on the cover
2/ Read a book in the same spot the entire time
3/ Read a book you meant to read last year
4/ Read an author’s first book
5/ Read a book with a non-human main character
6/ Pick a book that has 5 or more words in the title
7/ Read and watch a book to movie adaptation
BONUS: Read 7 books!
If you want to participate in this read-a-thon (and earn all the badges!), make sure to register on their website and track your progress there so you can be rewarded accordingly! And don’t forget to send me a friend request on their website as well 🙂
My TBR is huge and I really don’t think I’ll be able to read all of these books, but I will definitely give it my best try!
READ A BOOK YOU MEANT TO READ LAST YEAR
(268 pages)
I’ve been meaning to read this book for almost a year now (it came out in August 2018). Now that I own the beautiful “salmon-pink” edition, I’m very excited to dive into it. Besides, it’s shorter than usual novels with only 268 pages. Hopefully, it will be a quick read.
READ A BOOK WITH A NON-HUMAN MAIN CHARACTER

READ AND WATCH A BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATION
(240 pages)
I watched the movie a couple of times before, but I never actually read the book. Since my friend and fellow blogger, Jenna, recently posted her review of Matilda and mentioned it many times in her posts, I decided to add it to my TBR!
BONUS: READ 7 BOOKS
These are some of the shorter books on my TBR that I might read to get that 7 books badge!
WILL YOU PARTICIPATE IN THIS YEAR’S READING RUSH? HOW MANY BOOKS ARE YOU PLANNING TO READ?

Ohhh Matilda is a great pick for that prompt! It’s been ages since I’ve seen that movie/read that book. I just posted my TBR this morning so here’s wishing us both tons of luck!!

After I made my TBR, I realized that my copy of Shadow and Bone is purple! And can count towards the first challenge, so I might switch things up a little bit. (if I manage to NOT read Shadow and Bone during this weekend 😀 )
Good luck next week! 🙂

I think the hardest part for me will be sticking to my TBR lol. And not starting them this weekend now that they’ve been on my mind for days lol

Ahaha, that’s so true! Last night I found Shadow and Bone copy on my shelves and it’s purple! I was like “let me just read a few pages to see if I can use it for the first challenge”… I read 70 pages *facepalm*, and I’m really enjoying it.
So now I kinda want to read it right now, but at the same time save for the read-a-thon. Arrrghhh 😀

Hahaha! If that’s not relatable I don’t know what is! I’d say plow through S&B, but then you’ll probably want to dive straight into book 2, which might mess up the whole readathon thing! lol

Thank you ❤
I tried to convince Jenna to participate, but she refused 😀 There are actually SO many people participating this year, it's very cool.
This and OWLs / NEWTs are probably my favorite read-a-thons so far.
I'll definitely try to read it next week, it sounds amazing 🙂
