July 2019 Goals |Reading Rush and To-Do lists!

It’s time to sit and write down my goals for this month!

July will mostly be the month of “catch up”. I feel like I need to clear up my To-Do list (and as soon as possible), so I can have some free time for myself. I know I say this every month, but life has been very busy overall and dedicating time to blogging and reading has become more and more difficult over the past couple of months.

I love the busy days, but I think I’m ready to take a little break from them as well. I won’t have holidays from work until September, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t take things a little easier over the next couple of weeks. But in order to do that, I’ll need to tie all the ends, finish pending tasks and then enjoy my reading time!

JULY GOALS

1 – To prioritize! My first goal in July is to prioritize my tasks. I have the worst habit of leaving more difficult tasks for last and mull over them for eternity until I just sit and get them done. This is something I’d like to change. The best way for me to tackle larger tasks is to break them into smaller more manageable points that aren’t as scary to do in one go. That is what I want to focus on more this month.

2 – To fight the reading slump! I’m not exactly in a reading slump (YET). But I’ve been feeling on the bridge of it almost all 2019, and it’s not a wonderful feeling. Therefore, once I finish my ARCs I want to focus more on other books that I purchased this year, and read just for myself.

3 – To participate in the Reading Rush 2019 – Read-a-thon that runs from 22nd to the 28th of July. This is probably the opposite of the previous goal 😀 because read-a-thons usually put me in the reading slumps. But I really want to try my luck this year in the Reading Rush and get all the new badges!

This is my first badge of this year (for registering on the new website 😀 ). If you will participate in this read-a-thon, add me on their website!

I’ve participated in Booktube-a-thon in 2017 and really loved to dedicate that week to some intense reading. I still remember vividly the books I read and the whole process.

4 – To read ARCs! Yep, July will be the month of ARCs as well. I have some very exciting ones and can’t wait to read them all!

That is it for my July goals! What are you planning to achieve this month? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. So excited for the Reading Rush! Still trying to make my TBR for it… a few of the challenges have me a little stumped because I’m trying to use books I already own. I can’t wait!!

    1. Yeah! Same. I tried to plan them a bit last weekend, but it might change as we get closer to the Reading Rush week. Also, I really want ALL THE BADGES, so trying to choose the shortest books I won that fit the prompts 😀

        1. That’s true. I’m also feeling a little too close to the reading slump, but I’m still going to participate in the Reading Rush read-a-thon 😀 It’s might be the best or the worst idea ever. lol

  2. Great goals Alex! I’m with you, I think my July is going to be a catch up month too. I have so many blog posts that I want to write up, I just need to find the time!! Plus I just want to slow down on my reading, which I’m doing quite well on this month. I think after everything I did last month I need to slow down haha! 🙂

  3. Good luck with your goals for this month! 😀
My only actual reading goal for July is to finish The Priory of the Orange Tree – I had to stop reading it when exam season began and haven’t been motivated to pick it up ever since, especially because it’s huge.
My other goals are more personal-wise: spend more time outside, spend time with friends, schedule those doctor’s appointments I’ve been postponing, find some way to fit some work out in my routine, etc etc I’m part of my faculty’s Tuna and we have a lot of performances scheduled for this month too, so I’ll be busy, but happy, I hope!! ^^
