The fifth month of the year and my 5th set of goals! (Let’s pretend that I didn’t skip this post in February.) I don’t do well with monthly TBR, mostly because I never follow them, and feel forced to read certain books. But GOALS! They are so motivating!
I also love readings other’s monthly goals and see if I can steal some of them for myself 😀
May is probably one of my favorite months of the year. And to justify my May love, I’ve managed to compile a list of 10 things that May has over other months:
- My birthday!
- Dandelions
- First warm evenings
- Bank holidays!
- May 4th be with you
- Mother’s Day
- Longer days
- It’s the National Smile Month in the UK; and
- It’s the last month of spring; and
- In many countries, the last month of the school year!
This is usually what happens when I begin to procrastinate. Random lists about random things. Now that we got that out of the way, let’s actually create a list of USEFUL stuff!

MAY GOALS
- Rejuvenate my Bookstagram page! It’s been over a year since I posted anything new on my Instagram feed. I still use stories quite a lot and watch a lot of stories too. But my feed completely died. This month I want to bring it back, but also get excited about taking bookish photos again, not just for Instagram but also for this blog.
- Don’t put too much pressure on myself. I tend to do this a lot. And even more during my birthday month. I can become such a perfectionist that anything that goes slightly wrong or different from what I expected, instantly makes me upset, even though I know how silly that is. So this month, I’m trying extra hard to not let those feelings ruin my overall excitement for May!
- Finish all pending tasks. This can be something work-related, book reviews, personal stuff or blog posts I’ve been meaning to write for months now. I hate when tasks start to accumulate, feeling buried under them with no way to escape. And the only solution to that is to actually get everything done!
- Plan some getaways. There are still three weekends left in May, and I don’t want to spend all of them working! It’s about time to break the routine and enjoy the first proper summer days.
- Get closer to finishing my GoodReads goal. As I’m writing this post I’ve read 30 out of my goal of 50 books. And I actually want to try to finish it by the end of June, which means that I need to apply myself a little bit more and dedicate more time to reading in May.
And the last one is to ENJOY THE SUNNY DAYS! Last Saturday I was able to get some reading and sunbathing done (only 20 minutes), and it felt amazing!
Good luck with all your goals for May, and happy birthday in advance!!
I personally want to do a big spring cleaning in my room, save money and study some more!

Uuuh, these sounds like good goals. I might steal the ‘spring cleaning’ one 😀
And thank you! I hope May will be a good month for you ❤

You did it! Did you watch GoT while you worked on this? 😛
I liked your random list 😉 I didn’t know the UK had a national smile month! We don’t in Canada, but apparently the first of October is global Smile Day! I also really like May, because it’s the ONLY time in Canada where we get some Spring days ha-ha!
I love Dandelions! They’re so pretty! And I sent spam messages of “May the 4th be with you” to so many people ha-ha!
I love your Instagram, but I totally get what you mean. I found some filters I really like, so now I’ve be “reposting” because I want my old photos like my new ones … I’m bad like that he-he! I can’t wait to see these revisions!
Wow … you are doing so well! I’m at 14 (almost 15) out of 52 books. I need to catch up, but I have lots of time 🙂
Great goals and post, love!
P.S. Is that your kitty?!?!?

Ahaha, I stayed strong and finished this post first. Then we watched the GoT episode 4 (which was craaaaazy good btw) 😀
May is usually very hot here, although every year our summer tends to start later and later. Which is good because I don’t really like heat. The weather now is perfect, warm enough to wear T-shirts, but not too warm to start sweating as soon as you put your foot outside. lol
Thank you, I really hope I’ll be able to revive my Instagram a little, and maybe even fall in love with taking bookish pictures again. I’m like that too when it comes to filters 😀 I want my theme to look flaaaawless. But I’m not as dedicated as you to respost all of the photographs. It would take sooo long! I hope you get it done soon!
I have 4 cats and 2 dogs :O it’s a small zoo at home…. ahah. But this one (Rocky) is my favorite. (and I think he loves me the most too) ❤

I’m on the fence … I love heat and warmth … but I despise humidity … and Ottawa gets ALL the humidity!!!
I had to take a break for a while … taking photos just felt like a chore rather than fun. But lately it’s been fun 🙂
OH MY GOSH!!! THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE BEST HOUSE EVER!!!! I want a dog SO BAD! But I know it’s not financially a smart choice atm … UGH! Adulting sucks!

Adulting sucks so much! There are some pluses, but usually there are only problems and struggles and worries and idk, everything else bad that you can think of. Ahaha
Okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit. 😀
New blog post idea: “xx Good Things about Adulting!” Lol
I hate it when blogging / writing or anything related to this becomes a chore. It’s the worst feeling ever 😦

I think the biggest thing for me is how much it costs to just live … seriously. I’m single and own a condo, so I’m CONSTANTLY wondering how the HELL people are able to afford to travel when I’m like, “hmmm … do I need to eat this week?” lol!
Ooooo! We should do a twin post 😉 It’s a good way to make things happier with adulting 😛

Ahaha, YES to eating, NO to travelling. Who needs travel anyway when you can read so many books?!

That cat gif! 😀 😍so cute!
These are some great goals! 🙂 I feel you about the pressure, I do the same… and then I’m like why am I doing that?! It’s not worth it sometimes, so I’m trying to relax… especially at work because seriously no one cares at work.
Getaways sound like lots of fun! I hope you manage to do some fun stuff! I have a spa day planned in two weeks and I can’t wait!! 😀
I wish you the very best in reading, and trying to finish your reading challenge, you’re quite close! 😀

The pressure is real! 😀 Especially after long days at work. I love the fast rythm of my job, but sometimes it can be very draining. Yesterday I totally gave in, and just spent a few hours in the evening laying in my bed enjoing the peace and quite. Lol
Uhh, spa! Sounds good. (maybe I should steal your idea and plan one for myself too? 😀 )
Thank you, hun. I hope this month will be good for you too. ❤

Yes, yes, and yes! I agree with that! I love my job and the fast paced-ness of it all, but sometimes it can really drain me out!
Ah that must have been so relaxing! 😀
Yes! (again haha 😉) you should totally take some time to go to the spa! I can’t wait, I swear it can’t come fast enough! 😀
Thanks! Here’s to a wonderful May! :D❤️
