Most Anticipated Releases | April 2019

Some month I struggle to find new books to add to this post. While other months, there are so many of them that it becomes difficult to narrow the list down. This was the case for April. This post could go on and on forever!

I can’t even imagine what May will be like. Most of my current ARCs will be published in May and I haven’t even checked other new releases yet. But one step at a time!
Let’s see what April brings us!

April 2ND, 2019_____________

Yet again a 2nd book in Adult Fantasy series. This one has a “magic” school setting and I loved the first book! There was a crew of friends, battles, exams and trials, basically everything I love in fantasy book. Here is my review of the 1st Book – «School for Psychics»

Last year, Teddy Cannon discovered she was psychic. This year, her skills will be put to the test as she investigates a secretive case that will take her far from home—and deep into the past in the thrilling follow-up to School for Psychics…more

I know what you might say – How can I be anticipating the 3rd book in the series I haven’t even started reading it yet! In my defense, everyone has been talking about Book of the Ancestors series by Mark Lawrence, and I do own the 1st book, and it’s very high on my reading priority list! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They came against her as a child. Now they face the woman.
The ice is advancing, the Corridor narrowing, and the empire is under siege from the Scithrowl in the east and the Durns in the west. Everywhere, the emperor’s armies are in retreat…more

Robin Hobb gave this book a full 5star rating. That is enough to spike my interest to see what new world Sam Sykes brings! Although… I’m not a fan of this cover art.

Sam Sykes returns with a new fantasy that introduces to an unforgettable outcast magician caught between two warring empires.
Among humans, none have power like mages. And among mages, none have will like Sal the Cacophony. Once revered, now vagrant, she walks a wasteland scarred by generations of magical warfare…more

I’m sure «The Ash Family» will make a splash. The premise is intriguing, focused around a young woman who joins a secluded community. And the cover is absolutely gorgeous! Look at those colors!

When a young woman leaves her family—and the civilized world—to join an off-the-grid community headed by an enigmatic leader, she discovers that belonging comes with a deadly cost, in this lush and searing debut novel…more

APRIL 16TH, 2019_____________

I’ve been struggling to find some good, twisty thrillers, that would keep me constantly agitated. «Miracle Creek» sounds like something I might enjoy. Murder mystery mixed in with some family drama.

My husband asked me to lie. Not a big lie. He probably didn’t even consider it a lie, and neither did I, at first . . .

In the small town of Miracle Creek, Virginia, Young and Pak Yoo run an experimental medical treatment device known as the Miracle Submarine—a pressurized oxygen chamber that patients enter for therapeutic “dives” with the hopes of curing issues like autism or infertility. But when the Miracle Submarine mysteriously explodes, killing two people …more

The 2nd book in the epic Adult fantasy series, Of Blood and Bone, by John Gwynne, author of the Faithful and the Fallen series, is coming out this month! If you are not excited, I’m not sure what you’re doing with your life! And if you are new to the series, check my review of the 1st book here – «A Time of Dread».

Defy the darkness. Defend the light.
Drem and his friends flee the battle at Starstone Lake to warn the Order of the Bright Star. They’ve witnessed horrors they’ll never forget, such as magic warping men into beasts. But worst of all, they’ve seen a demon rise from the dead – making it even more powerful…more

april 26th, 2019_____________

After so many Fantasy books and some heavier Literary Fiction, I found myself a perfect book to relax. And it has cats in it! I love cats! ❤

Everyone in town knows Nancy Jones. She loves her cats. She loves her tumbledown house by the sea. She loves her job in the local school where she tries to help the children who need help the most. Nancy tries hard not to think about her past loves and where those led her…more

April 2ND, 2019_____________

«Wicked Saints» by Emily A. Duncan, the book EVERYONE has been anticipating. Of course, I had to include it in my list as well. I must say that quite a lot of “not so great” reviews have been popping up more and more as we approach the publication date, but I’m still interested to see if I will enjoy.

A girl who can speak to gods must save her people without destroying herself.
A prince in danger must decide who to trust.
A boy with a monstrous secret waits in the wings.
Together, they must assassinate the king and stop the war…more.

This one I wasn’t so sure about. I really liked «Flame in the Mist» by Renee Ahdieh, and I guess this will have a similar feel to it. But I’m not convinced yet. I will wait for the hype to die down first.

Princess Hesina of Yan has always been eager to shirk the responsibilities of the crown, dreaming of an unremarkable life. But when her beloved father is found dead, she’s thrust into power, suddenly the queen of a surprisingly unstable kingdom. What’s more, Hesina believes that her father was murdered—and that the killer is someone close to her…more

It is finally here! The great finale of the Nyxia Triad series. I couldn’t be more excited for this one. I read and reviewed the 1st book in 2017, you can find my review here. And instantly became obsessed with this series! Also, here is a link to 5 Different Ways to Use Nyxia.

In the highly anticipated Nyxia Triad series finale, Emmett and the Genesis team must join forces with a surprising set of allies if they’re ever to make it home alive.

Desperate to return home to Earth and claim the reward Babel promised, Emmett and the Genesis team join forces with the Imago …more

  1. Fantastic list! I am really looking forward to Miracle Creek. This is my most anticipated release. Thanks for introducing me to The Strangers by Peterson Haddix, I did not even know about this one. I really liked her debut book Running Out of Time, that is also the book which inspired M. Night Shyamalan to shoot his movie The Village.

    1. Thank you! 🙂
Actually, just yesterday I got approved for Miracle Creek ARC. I’m SO excited. Currently debating if I should just drop everything I’m reading and switch to it..

I love a good middle grade book, I think they might be my “comfort” books, just that feeling of warmth when I read them. I didn’t know about her other novel, thank you! I will check it out.
