In this epic continuation to «Nyxia», following the events of the first book, Emmett Atwater and his crew have landed on the planet of Eden. But not under the circumstances they were hoping for. Their instructions were simple – play nice and extract Nyxia in great quantities, something they were trained to do on Genesis 11 spaceship.
Lies, intrigues, secrets, and betrayals continue in this sequel, as the crew tries to figure out their new alliances and set their allegiances.
![]() Getting to Eden brought Emmett and his crewmates one step closer to their promised fortune. But surviving Eden may be the biggest reward of all. Discover book two in the trilogy Marie Lu called, “a high-octance thriller.” Emmett Atwater thought Babel’s game sounded easy. Get points. Get paid. Go home. But it didn’t take long for him to learn that Babel’s competition was full of broken promises, none darker or more damaging than the last one. Now Emmett and the rest of the Genesis survivors must rally and forge their own path through a new world. Their mission from Babel is simple: extract nyxia, the most valuable material in the universe, and play nice with the indigenous Adamite population. But Emmett and the others quickly realize they are caught between two powerful forces—Babel and the Adamites—with clashing desires. Will the Genesis team make it out alive before it’s too late? |

I was so lucky to get the ARC of «Nyxia Unleashed» by Scott Reintgen. It was my most anticipated release of this year and I am absolutely in love with Scott Reintgen’s writing, Emmett, Genesis 11 crew and adventures on the new planet. Check my review of the first book HERE!
What is NYXIA?
It is an alien substance (stone? metal?) discovered in the mines of Eden that can be manipulated with one’s mind.
To avoid unnecessary spoilers, I’ve decided to provide a rather useful list of all cool things you can use NYXIA for!
A tiny slab of NYXIA can have many different uses. The most common is, of course, creating various objects. Nyxia can be used to build anything your heart desires, from a house to a spaceship. If, like Bable, you decide to build yourself an NYXIA ship, be aware to not attempt to control the substance within it all by yourself and don’t let an Adamite run loose on your ship unless you have a deathwish.
This place has to go to various NYXIA marks and “tattoos” (let’s call them that for simplicity). When your eye is surrounded by NYXIA that is embedded in your skin, there is no doubt about the “coolness” of your look, just like Longwei – cool and deadly.
Creating various items also includes weapons. But they deserve a separate place on the pedestal. Here, you must learn from Emmett and always carry a nyxia nickel in the boot, just in case someone decides to kidnap you. Your captives might be smart enough to remove all weapons and nyxia from your pockets, but there is an 80 out to 100 chance that they won’t take your shoes off in their hurry to take your limp body far away before anyone notices.
The second place goes to Nyxia’s healing ability. Whether you need to patch up a deadly wound or stop bleeding – Not a problem! (that is if you have a nyxia manipulator with you at all times. They can be rather handy. Get yourself one!).
Morning’s Confession Chambers definitely makes the top of my list. When surveillance cameras and hidden bugs don’t provide the privacy you wish for, don’t stress! Nyxia comes to the rescue. Just encircle yourself and people around you in a tight nyxia sphere, and no sound will escape outside of nyxia walls. They can keep looking in their cameras, but no vital information will leak to your enemies.
Now the hard thing is to actually learn how to do all of the above. That is if you can get your hands on a piece of NYXIA.
