Spring Wrap Up 2018 | Life, Blog & Reading Update

SPRING UPDATE

What seemed like rather uneventful 5 months, turned out to be a very busy time looking back. That is why I love doing wrap-ups so much, they give a perfect overview of my life, of things I did and things still to be done in the future.

This year started just as any other year, with celebrations, hopes and many promises to myself that (A) I will finally go to the gym and (B) get my life under control. I’m glad to announce that I kept at least one promise to myself, and have been going to the gym for the past 4 months!

I might look something like this:

And definitely nothing like that:

But I’m enjoying it far more than I thought I would.

*On a side note – why does no one wear glasses in the gym?! So many people use glasses every single day (including myself), but I haven’t seen a single 4-eyed person in my local gym. Why is that? I made it my quest to discover what healing magic the gym premises possess.

Getting my life back together wasn’t as easy as sticking to a new 3-times-per-week exercise schedule, and I admit that it was very difficult to fit it into my usual weekly routine.

Some people hate routines, but I am one of those routine-loving-people. A slight change in my get up hour or bedtime habits, and *POOF* stress level 120 (wait, what is the current highest level in World of Warcraft?).

Juggling personal life (especially the beginning of a new relationship, when you literally cannot stay apart for longer than a couple of hours), work and increase in responsibilities, blog and reading, turned out to be harder than I imagined when suddenly my alone time was reduced to minus one.

But I love the mess and the constant TO-DO list. That’s what life is and I am not planning to stop any time soon. On the contrary, I am planning to add more time-consuming things to my life and also trying to discover a way to live without sleep.

Babbling aside, this Spring and the last 5 months, in general, were very eventful. There were friends’ weddings, lots of movie nights, and trips to numerous nearby places that you seldom go to.

We’ve been following closely all movie premiers and I’ve compiled a small chart of all new movies we watched so far this year.

* Deadpool 2 is the next on our list! *Excited!*
**And yes, I didn’t like Black Panther… at all.

Besides the movies, we have been driving around Algarve (south of Portugal) every weekend. It feels like we’ve visited almost every small town nearby to where we live, but I’m sure there are still lots to see!

We took a longer trip at the beginning of May and went to Sintra, just above Lisbon. The trip deserves a post on its own and I am slowly working on it. However, I couldn’t talk about my spring wrap up and not include a few pictures of beautiful castles, magical forests, and stunning views.

My reading suffered a lot this year, but May was a spectacular reading month and I finally managed to read 8 books, which is more than March and April combined. Think I’m finally getting a hang on this time management thing.

8 books in one month and I am only three reviews behind. Look at me! I’m definitely becoming time management expert. (pm me for some tips).*
*I’m becoming so good at it that I even started playing The Witcher last weekend. How about that!

That’s enough about me 🙂 How are you? What books did you enjoy the most this Spring? What are your summer plans?

  1. Wow you have been busy! Way to go about going to the gym! I keep saying maybe one day I’ll join the gym, but I don’t think I ever will… I have to much anxiety for it. I’m glad to hear it’s working out for you! 🙂 I’m with you on routine, I LOVE routine, it really keeps my life simplified!
Your photos are so colourful and pretty! 😀 You’ve been to the movies waaay more than me! I just went to see the Avengers last Friday… I liked it, but it definitely wasn’t my favourite Marvel movie! I’m hoping to see Solo this weekend coming up. I’ve heard that Solo has had mixed reviews but I see you enjoyed it so that leaves me feeling hopeful 🙂

  2. I’m one of those rare people who wears glasses at the gym…. but only because I refuse to use contacts. But now that you mention it, I don’t really see people wear them at the gym either! Weird!
