Most Anticipated Releases | April 2018

Monthly post on the exciting new releases is finally back!

My To-Be-Read bookshelf on GoodReads has been slowly decreasing in size and that is not acceptable. Maybe I should rename it to “To-Be-Bought” instead? Because I feel that I only add books I am 100% sure I will eventually purchase and everything else is left forgotten and unnoticed. Although, many times I end up buying something that is not even on the shelf.  Or maybe I am just scared of getting lost in my big virtual TBR pile? But that is subject for some other time.

1st April

36470842«I Have Lost My Way» by Gayle Forman.

Gayle Forman is a master of YA suspense/thriller and her books usually leave me completely wrecked, sobbing into the pillow, making me feel all of the deep, sad emotions and that is why I love them so much. Not sure what it says about me though…

I was kindly offered a sneak peek that I am planning to read right now and then run to the store to purchase the actual book!

3rd April

35480518«The Female Persuasion» by Meg Wolitzer.

Presented as “a novel about power and influence, ego, and loyalty, womanhood, and ambition”, «The Female Persuasion» definitely intrigues me. I’ve been following the reviews on this book and so far I heard both good and bad things about it, which is completely normal. But I am looking forward to reading it myself to see if the book is as interesting as the blurb promises it to be.

10th April

35820633«The Fates Divide» (Carve the Mark #2) by Veronica Roth

Not sure what I’ve been waiting for, but I still haven’t picked up the first book in this duology, even though Veronica Ross has become my favorite author after the Divergent trilogy. Now that the second book is out, I might just binge read it.

I would love to know if any of you read «Carve the Mark» and what you thought about it. The hype around it was unstoppable when it first came out, but then more and more negative reviews started to pop up around the blogosphere, and now I am just a little bit apprehensive to try it on my own.

30339493«Isle of Blood and Stone» by Makiia Lucier

New fantasy worlds always excite me. Maybe that’s why I am so eager to start new series, instead of finishing the ones I’ve already started?

«Isle of Blood and Stone» is a new YA fantasy about lost princes, exploration, an expedition into uncharted waters, adventure and friendship. All of this surely appeals to me!

35297390«Space Opera» by Catherynne M. Valente

“The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy meets Eurovision in an over-the-top science fiction spectacle from bestselling author Catherynne M. Valente, in which sentient species compete for glory in a galactic musical contest—where the stakes are as high as the fate of planet Earth.” – GoodReads

Last year I’ve discovered «Nyxia», a YA Sci-fi debut novel (the second book «Nyxia Unleashed» is coming out very soon!!!!). This year I am excited to give «Space Opera» a try and see how much fun Eurovision in space can actually be.

These are all books I am looking forward to this month. April will definitely not be the most release-packed month of the year, but it’s nice to always have a couple books to look out for.

  1. this list!!!!!!! I found a sneak peak at the bookstore in a teeny book with about 10 pages, and I promptly lost it on the drive back home. *sigh*
I read an arc for isle of blood and stone and sadly it was not my favorite thing ever BUT I had just read “foxhole court” and I wasn’t ready to devote real emotions to a new book xD

  2. Isle’s of Blood and Stone sounds soo interesting. I might have to look into it.
As for Carve the Mark I DNFd it. It was mostly extremely boring and predictable. I absolutely love Divergent. So I had high hopes and I was beyond disappointed!
