The Fall Time, Cozy Time | Book Tag & Another Autumn Inspired Post

Here I am with yet another Autumnal post, because it’s still 30 degrees Celsius in Portugal and I am desperate for some Autumn weather. I stockpiled tons of candles, blankets and cozy socks, but the weather does not allow me to enjoy them to their fullest potential.

And lately, being in a reading slump, I feel like gloomier days will put me in a better reading mood. I’ve been trying everything to get myself excited about reading again and a much awaited rain session might do just that!

Thank you lovely, Lindsey @ParadisBooks, for tagging me! Make sure to check her answers to this book tag!

Let’s begin!

Crunching Leaves: The world is full of color – Choose a book that has reds/oranges/yellows on the cover

This is the easiest answer ever! Last week, in my post about Books I am reading this Autumn, I was talking about how much this cover reminds me of Autumn. I guess yellow and orange on the cover of «Furthermore» are doing their trick!

Cozy Sweater: It’s finally cold enough to wear warm cozy clothing – What book gives you the warm fuzzies?

Definitely «Pax» by Sara Pennypacker. It’s one of my most favourite stories ever. It broke my heart and I might sound like a masochist but I would love to re-read it again and experience all of those emotions that made me sob out loud.

Fall Storm: The wind is howling and the rain is pounding – Choose your favorite book or genre that you like to read on a stormy day.

There is a variety of genres I would read on a stormy day. The first and most obvious choices would be either Dystopian or Sci-fi, however some General Fiction novels have the same gloomy feeling to them and I wouldn’t mind one bit to dive into Adult fiction instead of a fantasy world.

Cool Crisp Air: What’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?

This is going to be the most cliché choice, but – Hermione Granger. She was the only character I ever wanted to be. I’ve waited years for my Hogwarts letter that never arrived, but I didn’t want to be the chosen one, I wanted to be the smart and hard-working one. The third book in Harry Potter series is my absolute favourite and the only reason is the Time Turner that Hermione used to get to ALL of her lessons. And that is all I wanted to be!

Hot Apple Cider: What under hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?

A few of 2017 releases that I got a chance to read, weren’t as popular as I expected them to be. So I’d vote for «The Leavers» by Lisa Ko – Chinese immigrants in the USA, adoption, finding yourself. It was a beautiful read and definitely not one I’d forget anytime soon.

Coat, Scarves, and Mittens: The weather has turned cold and it’s time to cover up – What’s the most embarrassing book cover you own that you like to keep hidden in public?

When I was giving «50 Shades of Grey» a try, I never read it outside. The cover it not even embarrassing, it’s just the fact that it is THAT cover.

Pumpkin Spice: What’s your favorite fall time comforts food/foods?

Apple Pie! I love everything that has baked apples. Pies, tarts, rolls, just apples, anything at all. It’s the smell of freshly baked apple with cinnamon, just out of the oven. The best thing ever!

Tag Time!

With love, Alex

  1. Thank you so much for the tag, Alex! I can relate so much with you wanting to be like Hermione, even though I’ve read Harry Potter only recently, I wish my Hogwarts letter would have come and I won’t be disappointed if it comes, even now. The Leavers sounds like a great book and I’ll check this out, I have never heard of it before! 🙂

    1. Autumn and Spring are my favourite months, here in Portugal. It’s not as hot but still very lovely to be outside. However, we don’t get the “feeling of Autumn” and nothing ever turns brown… Green grass and leaves all year around.

  2. Ohh, thanks so much for the tag Alex. I’ll definitely have to move this one up in my queue a little given it’s only Autumn for a short while.
Also I love your picks for this one. I have Furthermore on my to-read list, and seeing you feature it in this posts makes me think maybe it would be a perfect fall read for me, also I’d definitely trade places with Hermione Granger. Maybe it is cliche but it’s only cliche because everyone would probably love to have gone to Hogwarts instead of a normal and non-magical high school! 😀
Again thanks for the tag. 🙂 ❤

  3. I loved reading this! We have the same weather here in Canada, I’m completely ready for fall, crisp weather, but it’s still 30 degrees 😐
Haha, I have to agree with you, when I read 50 Shades of Grey I never wanted to read it in public because I never wanted anyone to know I was reading it 😛
