According to the Astronomical calendar, Autumn begins today, on the 22nd of September! And to celebrate the beginning of Autumn I thought I’d share the list of the books I am most excited to read during this wonderful season!
Let’s start with my physical TBR pile. Most of these books are recent purchases and I can’t wait to pick one of them up on a cozy rainy day.
1 – «Tarnished City» by Vic James. This is the second book in the Dark Gifts series, full of magic, politics and dystopian settings! I absolutely adored the first book and can’t wait to know what happens next!
2 – «Furthermore» by Tahereh Mafi. The look and settings of this book scream Autumn to me, and I can already picture myself reading it on one of the colder days. It will be amazing!
3 – «The Name of the Wind» by Patrick Rothfuss. In one of my recent posts about the fantasy books I am interested in, many of you recommended me to start with this one and that is precisely what I am planning to do.
4 – «Nevernight» by Jay Kristoff. Frankly, I was not interested in reading this until all the excitement about the second installment got to me and now I fell victim to book bloggers’ and booktubers’ promotions!
5 – «Hostage» by Guy Delisle is a graphic novel based on real events and it might be the heaviest book I own. It’s massive, beautiful and still has that smell of the new book!
Finally, there are also a few ARCs coming out this Autumn that I haven’t had a chance to read yet.
And now it’s time to read! Hopefully this will help you get excited about seasonal reading!
With love, Alex
Loving this list Alex! I have yet to p/u my copy of Tarnished City but it’s def on my To-Do list because I need to know what happens next! *eeeK* also haven’t read Nevernight but just like you I fell victim & own both physical copies of Nevernight & Godsgrave now smh. Gray Wolf Island looks really good though *heart eyes emoji* Happy Fall reading!!! 🙂

Thank you! I really want to read my “physical books” but there are so many books coming out in October, so I think I’ll deal with those ARCs first – especially «Gray Wolf Island», which sounds very whimsical!

That sounds about the same route I’m going lol. I just came from Krysti @YaandWine where she had a interview recently with the author of Gray Wolf Island &the author responded to the comment I left. I’m def picking that one up on release day 🙂
P.S.Happy reading!

I hope you enjoy all these books Alex. 🙂 I recently read Tarnished City and I loved it, it’s probably the best sequel I’ve read this year and I thought it was so much better than Gilded Cage as well. If you loved Gilded Cage I reckon you’ll love Tarnished City just as much, if not more.
Also I really hope you enjoy Nevernight, that was a book I wasn’t all that interested in until I started getting drawn in by the hype for it. Now it’s one of my favourite series. 😀

I am soooo excited for «Tarnished City» and I’ve been “saving it for later”. I need to just sit down and start reading it! ❤

“Weycombe” is also on my fall reading list. Also, I like the look of “The name of the wind”.

I’m reading «Weycombe» right now and honestly I am not enjoying it at all. It has a very peculiar way of presenting information to the readers and also the timing of when certain bits are told is weird.. I’m 80% through and hoping to finish it tonight.

I’ll look forward to your review of “Weycombe” Alex. Sorry it has not lived up to expectations so far…
