Me? Posting Tag again?? What is happening?!
As title suggests, I’ve been seeing this tag EVERYWHERE. On WordPress, YouTube, and even on Instagram. And now I am also contributing my 5 pennies and freaking out a little bit because the first half of the year passed so quickly!
Thank you Joana @ Bookneeders for tagging me ❤ Make sure to check her amazing blog!
Best book you’ve read so far in 2017
There are a few amazing books I discovered this year, but let’s not cheat and pick only one (even though I am very tempted to list all of them!). I will go with «Nyxia» by Scott Reintgen, because it was the PERFECT SCI-FI / DYSTOPIAN, I am amazed by how much I enjoyed it!
Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2017
Oh, maaaaaan. This is a difficult one! Because the only sequel I’ve read so far was «A Court of Mist and Fury» by Sarah J. Maas and even though I gave it 4 stars, it still wasn’t good enough to be “the best”. I was hoping I would have read «Lord of Shadows» before posting this tag, but well… that didn’t happen.
New release you haven’t read but want to
Uh! Uh! I know this one! I am DYING to read the new book by Dan Brown – «Origin». I am obsessed with his elaborate mysteries and will never get enough of them.
Most anticipated release for the second part of 2017
«Tarnished City» by Vic James, the second book of the Dark Gifts series. If you haven’t read the first book – «Gilded Cage», I highly recommend you to! It had so many political issues and undiscovered magic that it instantly became one of the best reads of this year.
Biggest disappointment
Probably, «The Evaporation of Sofi Snow» by Mary Weber. It’s not that I expected a lot from it, but rather disappointed by the execution of a concept that is truly incredible. Bummer…
Biggest surprise
I was pleasantly surprised by the first book of the new series – «Flame in the Mist» by Reneé Ahdieh. I did not expect to like it as much as I did. It was phenomenal and I am looking forward to the continuation of this series. (you can see now that all I did the first half of this year was starting new series… )
Favourite new author
I read a great variety of new-to-me authors this year. It is difficult to pick only one. I will give this one to Cath Crowley. Her book – «Words in Deep Blue» was beautifully written and I saved so many quotes from there!
Newest fictional crush
Hmm.. I don’t really crush on characters. I might have liked Rhysand a little bit more than anyone else. Maybe.. Will see how things progress in «A Court of Wings and Ruin».
Newest favourite character
Definitely Beth from «All the Good Things» by Clare Fisher! I laughed and I cried together with Beth and it was beautiful.
Book that made you cry
There were a few, but I think the most memorable was «Every Last Lie» by Mary Kubica. The ending absolutely crushed me!
Book that made you happy
I will have to repeat myself here, because the book that made me the most emotional, that made me cry with a smile on my face was once again – «All the Good Things» by Clare Fisher.
Favourite book to movie adaptation you saw this year
Does «13 Reasons Why» count? Don’t think I saw any other book adaptations this year.
Most beautiful book you bought so far this year
«The Bear and the Nightingale» by Katherine Arden. Just look at this gorgeous cover!!!
What books do you need to read by the end of the year
I want to say ALL OF THEM, but we need to be realistic here. My goal for the rest of 2017 is to finish as many series as possible, because the amount of series I’ve started but never finished is growing each month and it is making me feel very uneasy.
Phew! I enjoyed this tag very much and if you haven’t done it yet, consider yourself tagged! Also, make sure to link your answers in the comments down below so I can satisfy my curiosity.
With love,
Alex
I forgot that Origin was coming out this year! Thanks for the reminder, haha! The history, culture and symbolism in his books that just keep me coming back 🙂

And go visit all those places too! Florence is still near the top of my must visit cities because of him! Well, him and Assassin’s Creed 2. Haha.

The Bear and the Nightingale is one of my favorite 2017 releases so far. I’m also glad to see how much you enjoyed Words in Deep Blue. I just picked that one up from the library and can’t wait to dive in.

YEY! The Bear and the Nightingale is one of my favs! 😍
I love magic and books with a lot of world development and politic! I also really need to get to Flame in the Mist… But I looooved Words in Deep Blue 😍 and I also don’t really crush on characters but I did really like Rhysand (I have an attraction to dark characters, I just love reading about them at any opportunity 😅).
I have Nyxia to read but I haven’t had time yet but now I am super excited because you loved it so much!!
I have yet to read Gilded Cage
I have to check All the Good Things and Every Last Lie because I’ve never heard of them.
Loved reading your answers!
