Goals June 2017 | When TBR is not enough to cover all the “wants” in my head

The most important thing that I noticed about myself ever since I’ve started this blog is that the better and more productive the month is,  the more I want to achieve. Working on something that is only my own and seeing it coming together to more or less where I want it to be is a great, satisfying feeling! (Highly recommend to anyone, even if it’s as small as starting an Instagram page!)

For more than a week now I’ve been thinking: What TBR list should I make for myself this month?! And nothing popped up in my head. Not because I am in a reading slump, but because I want to read everything and anything – #ProblemsOfTheOverachiever

TBRs and me, we always had a very complicated relationship that at one point resulted a post about all the issues I had with the TBR lists.

I kept making them because I love seeing what others decide to read in a certain month and these posts always give ideas about what other books I should pick up. However, sometimes TBR is just NOT ENOUGH.

This month I have certain goals that I would like to achieve and I would like to share them with you!

1 – As of right now, I am 14 books away from completing my GoodReads challenge and I know that I can do it this month! It is a lot of books and I usually only manage to find time to read half of that amount, but I know that I CAN DO IT!

◇◇◇

2 – Another bookish goal is to read as many ARCs as possible. If you remember, May was my ARC catching up month and I read quite a lot of them, but still not enough to put me in a comfortable place when it comes to requesting and reviewing ARCs. I want that 80% on NetGalley and I am getting it in June!

◇◇◇

3 – During the last 2-3 weeks I’ve been very active in the blogosphere and I love finding an hour or two everyday to check posts by my fellow bloggers, comment, make new friends and get inspired by others! I intend to keep up with it as much as possible.

◇◇◇

4 – When it comes to blogging, it’s hard to find time to write, edit, take photographs and arrange the post during the working week. When someone asked me a year ago How long did it take for me to prepare one post, I said about an hour or two. If someone asks me now, I have to admit that just one post in total usually takes 5-6 hours to make. It’s almost a full working day JUST FOR ONE POST.

This month I would like to be more consistent in preparing my posts during the weekend, at least the most part of them. It’s been going well so far and hopefully it stays this way.

◇◇◇

5 – Another blogging goal is to write more diverse posts! Discussions, travelling, photographs – just anything I am interested in. That’s the benefit of running your own blog – you can write about ANYTHING YOU WANT. Because who is the boss??? That’s right, I AM!

◇◇◇

6 – The last but not the least (and quite a silly one) I want to find a new TV show to watch! So if you have any suggestions, please leave them in the comments below!

This is it from me for today. Very ambitious but achievable goals for this month of June. Hope you get some inspiration from this list and share your own with me in the comments down below.

With love,

Alex

  1. These all seem like great goals! Definitely inspires me to make some of my own.
I’ve been watching both American Gods and The Handmaid’s Tale very recently and I love them both! 🙂

        1. I’ve heard so many people say that. I only watched season one of that show. Maybe I should go back. Another of my favorites is Dawson’s Creek.
