GoodReads Tag | Everything about my crazy reading schedule!

Big thank you to the wonderful fellow blogger Mandy @BookPrincessReviews for tagging me! I am honestly so happy that people still tag me even though I’ve been sooo lazy with tags! Thank you very very much!

GoodReads was one of those first bookish apps I ever had on my phone, followed later on by Amino Books and numerous others (until my phone protested to me installing any app due to the lack of memory, although I think he was just tired of my bookish obsession. Yes, my phone is a he. We have daily conversations and got to know each other fairly well. Let me if you want to know more about the day-to-day life of me and my pal phone.)

1 – What was the last book you marked as read?
19314543

That would be «Gambit» (The Prodigy Chronicles #1 by C.L.Denault – a copy I received from NetGalley. Absolutely loved it! I’ve written most of my thoughts in a proper review that will go up very very soon.

2 – What are you currently reading?

31422849There are three books on my “currently reading” shelf, however in reality I am only reading one of them at the moment – «The One» by John Marrs, yet again another ARC. Almost 30% through and I am starting to dislike it a little. We’ll see how this ends.

The others, «The Leavers» and «Grit» are those books that you pick up and then put down, but don’t really want to give up on them yet. I have an enormous pet peeve towards pending things, so these two hanging there will drive me insane eventually.

3 – What do you plan to read next?

I have 12 pending ARCs right now and I really want to finish and review them as soon as possible, even though they are only due in May / June and so on, the perfectionist in me is taking over my rationality and fun reading side.

I haven’t done March or April TBR this time on purpose. There was a sign of reading slump in the month of February and I needed to be spontaneous and read the books I am in the mood for. I have a few ideas for my next reads but my mind changes more often than you can possibly imagine, so stay tuned and keep an eye on my GoodReads shelf!

4 – Do you use the star rating system?

Stars all the way! Secretly wishing GoodReads would include “half stars” in their rating system. Why don’t they???

5 – Are you doing a 2017 Reading Challenge?

Yes!

This is my second time participating in GoodReads Reading Challenge and I set myself the same goal as last year – 50 books, even though I was able to read way more last year. I like not feeling pressured and staying ahead. 50 felt like a very reasonable number of books. As of right now I am at 23/50 –  8 books ahead of schedule (according to GoodReads).

6 – Do you have a wishlist?

I actually do! I use my “to read” shelf as a list of books I want to buy and as soon as I get my hands on them they are removed from my virtual to-read shelf and migrate to my actual book shelf where I will never forget about their existence (and the need to actually read them!)

7 – What books do you plan to buy next?

All of them??? If someone could get me a lifetime supply of books I would be very grateful! On a more serious note, I am not planning to purchase new books any time soon – the only one that I will definitely be buying is «Lord of Shadows» by Cassandra Clare – to be published on 23rd of May. (so excited about it!)

8 – Do you have any favourite quotes?

When I read I get lost. I don’t notice anything or anyone and the idea of stopping never visited, getting out of the story and highlighting the passages I like is absolutely terrifying. Nevertheless, I love googling new quotes every now and then, and I think one of my favourite ones is:

You have to believe. Otherwise, it will never happen.

Neil Gaiman

It applies to every little sphere of your life and gives me that very much needed push when I am feeling down.

9 – Who are your favourite authors?

I own multiple books by Gillian Flynn, Rainbow Rowell and Cassandra Clare and they have never disappointed me so far.

10 – Have you joined any groups?

Only one! Last year I wanted to finally read all the books of the Game of Thrones, because I love love LOVE the T.V. series, but the books are so big and tedious that there is no way for me to power through/ enjoy as much as I enjoy the TV adaptation. And then I found out about a new GoodReads the Game of Thrones reading group – let me just say that I joined, however  I only read two first books and I am still there!

I won’t be tagging anyone this time, as I am planning to catch up on ALL OF MY PENDING TAGS! It’s going to be the craziest thing I’ve ever done, but I am hoping to succeed. Feel free to answer this questions anyway and don’t forget to link your answers down below!

With love,

Alex
